in fact, those few moments are probably the best ones in my life

Yesterday, my problem child asked me (in his usual sour way) "why didn't you bring the dog??"

and I said pretending to have misheard him

"I don't think he has a phone, darling"

He ROARED with laughter and was nearly crying at the thought of it

Those are fun moments.

My daughter thinks I'm generally the goofier parent, but she finds my wife ROFL funnier than me. I wish I could get her to go crazy laughing as often as my wife can.

making them laugh is right up there with them making u laugh!!!!!

My eldest is soon 11, I think in a short time he won't think I am the least bit funny any more but for now at least, he hangs in every word and usually gives me as many goodnight hugs and kisses as he can get away with from 8pm onwards, until his bedtime at 9pm.

It's funny. When you mentioned your oldest boy would be 11 soon, I immediately thought, "Wow! That'll be my daughter one day!" Then I realized... that is my daughter! She turned 10 on Jan. 27, and apparently it hasn't quite sunk in for me! In my mind, she's still this little 6-year-old.

Geez, how time flies. Makes me want to sing "Sunrise, Sunset."

you realise 10 is practically an adult when it's a girl

i need to keep clear of that thread.... so i came back here for safety reasons

kids grow up way too quick.... they keep things real....

once during dinner she asked if the stuffing in the chicken was it's last meal..... she is our house blond

their dad isn't, he is like MY dad even I feel like the child in our relationship

Awww. I'm 25 and my dad still cracks me up. Save for about maybe 3 years when we didn't get along, he's cracked me up in ways no one else possibly can. But then again, we're both not quite right in the head. Once South Park came out, we spent hours talking about all sorts of insane things.

It's good to have a funny parent.
