The misinformation in this thread is positively mind-boggling. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves. |

Hey beef cows are not from here... buffalo cows and moose cows and elk cows are.... but most of us don't eat those. I wouldn't mind a moose steak though... |

Pretty sure those of us that would eat the fruit would be doing so to get to the meat.
(And NO I don't think women are just slabs of meat before anyone opens the gates of estrogen Hell on me.)
99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%. |

It is hard to stop eating meat if I'm used to eating them since childhood. If I can somehow reduced my diet to only fishes & vegetables full-time, then I'll be OK. And that a big "if".
You do realize that the fish have to be killed before you eat them, too, right?
Technically, they don't . . . I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think. |

Cows don't belong here (USA), they were brought here just like the pigs were. They need to be eaten. Otherwise they would become rampant like pigeons, starlings and rats.... other imports.
Bring on the beef and pork.
See i don't get that.
How do you see animals? I'm not trying to judge you, just trying to understand.
Do you think they have feelings?
Yes. They feel pain but 'emotions?' Basic. Fear, stress, defense of self or others. extremes of heat and cold, injury, shock but minus those situations I don't think they lounge around philosophizing. I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think. |

Yes they have feelings, but I eat fish too... ever see a large fish fight for its life? See all the blood? Many eat fish like they have no feelings either...fish are afraid and do fight for their lives.
but hey, its meat. Cows are domesticated animals that are raised to be slaughtered, not pets, it is a crime to misuse them. Its a grim reality, we raise cows to eat them.
I believe in using the entire animal. Nothing should be wasted. Like how native people hunted buffalo and deer and used the animals appropriately.
That said, cows milk should not be gathered in the winter, let them rest. Cows should have tougher meat... they should eat grass and not fed corn. Cows should be kept in clean conditions and allowed to roam.... and wolves should not be shot if they kill off a few of them.
Cows are $$. That's major money to feed wolves . . . . I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think. |

Really dude? I mean, REALLY? Could you make a more vapid and vacuous argument than that? Do I really need to amend it to say fish are dead AFTER you eat them? Like, seriously, what was your point? If you eat a damn fish its dead. It's not going to swim away and keep living afterwards, right? |

lol
All I was saying was that you can eat a fish while it's alive. It doesn't have to be dead for someone to bite into it and eat the fish. (I'd spit out the first bite of scales, but once you get it open . . . .
If you start from the side, you can still gut it later. [Edited 2/16/11 0:19am] I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think. |

So many delicious vege options and I'm not even a vegetarian (pork chop is sizzling in pan as I type this..mmmm )
I absolutely could go vegan and have raw vegan days only now and then. I love the variety that going vege brings to my diet when I do.
all that looks so yummy! I wish I could buy more fresh organic produce without paying too much $$$...
