This thread is complicated
Eating one steak a week is NORMAL and healthy. The excess is negative. Every doctor will tell ya that eating meat every friggin' day is fuckin' dangerous.
If people (specially american society) could learn to moderate his love for meat, there would be no need for the brutality that the picture of the OP shows...
Moderation, that's the key. Two eggs, one fish, one steak of cow, and some pork (weekly basis) that's all I need, + rice, pasta, tons of fruit, potatoes, tons of tomato, lettuce, bread, cheese, beans, etc.
And I don't eat chicken or any other bird. I refuse to do it. I just can't.

I think you can eat a lot of meat if you eat a very lean cut.

The real problem lies in the market of fast food cunsumption. Companies like MickeyD's and BurgerKing have single handedly changed the way meat is processed, heck the way cows are even fed too.
Eating steak isn't the problem, the problem is buying a value meal every day for lunch.

How do you see animals? I'm not trying to judge you, just trying to understand.
Do you think they have feelings?

It's all about the presentation of fruit that seduces me to eat it:

[Edited 2/14/11 2:48am] As said by some others, there is absolutely nothing wrong with eating lean meats every day. The problem lies in the less lean meats that contain high amounts of saturated fats.

Yes they have feelings, but I eat fish too... ever see a large fish fight for its life? See all the blood? Many eat fish like they have no feelings either...fish are afraid and do fight for their lives.
but hey, its meat. Cows are domesticated animals that are raised to be slaughtered, not pets, it is a crime to misuse them. Its a grim reality, we raise cows to eat them.
I believe in using the entire animal. Nothing should be wasted. Like how native people hunted buffalo and deer and used the animals appropriately.
That said, cows milk should not be gathered in the winter, let them rest. Cows should have tougher meat... they should eat grass and not fed corn. Cows should be kept in clean conditions and allowed to roam.... and wolves should not be shot if they kill off a few of them.

well yeah, spam too but I was thinking any that need a bunch of sodium nitrate/ preservatives to make them last a really long time in the fridge, like salami, sausage, hot dogs even!

ummm? excuse me?? smallgoods are bad? no way...
that's the stuff that MANY europeans eat (specially germans if I'm not mistaken), almost on daily basis, and their health is certainly good enough. That stuff looks healthy and tasty
I do agree, though, that meat in a can is garbage

true though it's not the meat itself that is bad, it's all the additives! Iif you are making the sausage at home in your smoke house, you probably don't have access to all the commercially used chemicals and preservatives, and it's probably not so bad for you, but store bought there is little out there today that still resembles a good german recipe for hearty sausage

Pretty sure those of us that would eat the fruit would be doing so to get to the meat.
