I don't own a car. I take public transit everywhere.

I hate driving.

I'm thinking of getting a scooter this spring though, finally.

This morning.

You are some kind of freak if you live and work in New York City and don't use public transport on a weekly basis.

I took the train from downtown Minneapolis to the Mall of America last October.

Last May, I took the train from the MOA to the Twins game.

The year before that, I took the CTA from downtown to Wrigley.

At home, the public transportation available doesn't go where I need it to. shrug

Can't remember the last time...decades ago.

If gas prices in the US hit $5US/gal though I'll be forced to. I already have a 2 hour commute. Public Trans would make it closer to 4 hrs/day, so I'll either do that or have to find another job closer to home.

I'm firmly planted in denial

I live & work in the suburbs, so car ownership is a MUST.

But whenever we go into NYC, it's easier to hop on the train and then take subways around Manhattan than for me to drive in, pay tolls, navigate through those congested streets, then pay $40 for parking.

The last time I was in NYC was one night in October or November(?) when I caught a My Morning Jacket concert. So I haven't taken public transport since.

Probably last year. It would have been the metro (subway), but I really don't remember. I do not do buses. Too much riff/raff.

Took the NYC suway today, but I look forward to consistent warmer weather so I can do a lot more walking around the city.

Today. I live in a subway kind of town. I started this morning at 9:15 with buses, then finished up at this afternoon with the subway back home

I took an airplane flight in December. Before that, I think I last used public buses/trains/streetcars in November.

I much prefer public transport when I have real, extended business to attend to on a given day. But for brief in-and-out errands (sadly, the only things for which I've really had to leave home for several months now sad), I find it more cost/time-effective to hop in our own vehicle, go and quickly come back.
