The more time I spend with dogs, the more I love them. They're just so unbelievably sweet, always happy to see you, wagging their tails, wanting you to rub their belly, scratch their head. mushy They give you such unconditional love that just makes you feel good. Doesn't matter if it's a big or little dog, I love them all. Dogs are definitely man's best friend.

Have had them all my life ( ALL )

pets ~ service dogs ~ show dogs ~ fostering

I'm dogsitting a mastiff this week. This is the first time I've ever seen a mastiff up close. I never realized how big they are. They are the size of a small horse.

The dog that I'm sitting has black and tan fur, which is in a kind of a marbled pattern. Very pretty, and this dog is so sweet and gentle. mushy

I love dogs. Even though a stupid dog bit me some weeks ago and I was worried about rabies for a little time.

When I was young I had one for 14 years. While I had him I learned that I am allergic to dog hair (animal hair) bawl. In fact I was told later that I should never have any other pet in my life and I always had pets bawl. I still kept him, but never got a new one.

My bf has 4 puppies though adn they are a pain in the ass as they are half wild dogs nuts. Thery are really cute though and I miss having them around.

With a very special thank you to Tina: Is hammer already absolute, how much some people verändern...ICH hope is never so I will be! And if, then I hope that I would then have wen in my environment who joins me in the A....

I do like dogs - a lot. I'd like to have one and my kids would LOVE to have one - they ask all the time for a pet dog. rolleyes

But the problem is that we're too busy for a dog. I don't want to walk a dog everyday and I don't like pet hairs and I don't like cleaning up poo and I don't want to have to worry about pet-care while i'm on holiday. So we're not getting one.

Our next-door neighbours have a lovely Staffordshire Bull Terrier. He's gorgeous and great with kids. We have a gate between our garden and their garden so that the kids can come and go and play together and sometimes the dog wanders in to see us. That's quite nice.

I'm allergic to animals as well... people who are allergic are allergic to the dander, not the hair.

Dander is from the saliva and urine of the animal. Cats lick themselves clean, this is why people tend to be more allergic to cats. It is also a lie that some dog breeds are "allergy free". All dogs pee and drool, and though some won't drool much they can still trigger your allergies if you share the same air in the house with them.

I am allergic to dogs and it triggers my asthma sad so are my children... so we can't have a dog. I had a couple when I was younger ... I kept a snotty face as a kid. lol

I love animals, especially dogs... I miss owning one dearly, even if they were lots of work.

That sucks.

That's interesting. I was told that I am allergic to the hair and my dog had really long hair hmmm. They didn't even mention dogs, but I noticed I am allergic to them too. The tests showed that I am most allergic to horses and rabbits though. And was told by my dermatologist that because of my skin I should never ever consider to have fish as their food would cause serious skin problems for me.

No fishies either?! Damn...

I keep fish. Freshwater, with dwarf frogs... my kids love the buzzing they make every night.

You may want to read up on different pets if you want to keep a nice tank. It depends on the fish you keep... different fish eat different food. nod

Species like seahorses, puffer fish and catfish may not irritate your skin. biggrin

I loovveee seahorses.

Well I must say that I would want a pet I can cuddle and that shows me how much he loves me and that's not exactly the case with fish lol. And moreover it would not be possible for me anyway to have any pet when I am away for longer periods of time as I hopefully will continue to be.

I never cared for frogs, but that changed. There are really cute toads in and around my bf's house in Trinidad and I totally fell in love with them love. Sadly thery are pretty much gone since he has 4 puppies though sigh.

If I were to ever get a dog, this is probably the breed that I would get:

My brother and his family have a Labrador Retriever, and he's really a sweet dog. Very loving and great with their two kids (the perfect family dog).

yeah I am a big fan of labs. I don't have a dog, but I love just about every lab I meet.

yes, very cute! I love bulldogs, but I think having to clean them would keep me from getting one.
