I need seven inches or more We're supposed to get a two-day snowstorm this week. I want to make it clear right now that I won't stand for any of this "in between" kind of snowfall (4 or 5 inches) - which means I still have to at least try to get to work. If we're going to get it anyway, I want a foot, so I can just call my boss and say, "I don't have 4-wheel drive, so I can't even get out of my driveway."
Do you hear me up there?! [Edited 1/31/11 7:36am] We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I gotten to the point I really don't take Weather men and women seriously . . . I don't think it's going to be all of that. I hope for you "we" get a foot of snow.

You said you only needed 7 inches! Short again....(the snow, that is).

Come back later when you get the reference.
And I'm sure you understand that wanting and needing are different things...right? We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

That sound you hear is the breaking hearts of all the org's gay men, who had eagerly and enthusiastically expected this to be a picture thread about something else entirely. We think you're a nasty girl, Genesia.
But through our grief, I'm sure we all send our best wishes your way for the worst kind of inclement weather.

If the weather people say one thing, it means another. Hell I don't think you may get a lot of snow. They go back and forth on their "predictions".

<<<waiting for Genesia to explain to people that she knows a thing or two about weather people.

You know me so well. For the those who don't...I was a weather person in a former career.
I just saw a story a little while ago about how the guys at the Chicago NWS office are bringing cots and changes of clothing to work tomorrow. Clearly, they know something.
Oh - and just when I thought I'd seen every kind of weather-related watch or warning known to man, today there's a new one - a Heavy Freezing Spray Watch for the Lake Michigan shore in Wisconsin. They're talking 10 to 14-foot waves Tuesday night into Wednesday.
I'm waiting for the latest forecast discussion. I want a snow day! We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Sorry, maybe I missed something. I took your post at face value. It's not important.

We're under a blizzard watch now... We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Yeah, you guys got socked with that clipper that went through. (We're getting that today and tonight.) The blizzard watch is for the next round - tomorrow afternoon through Wednesday - which is going south.
I read that the guys in the Chicago office of the National Weather Service are bringing cots and changes of clothing to the office with them. They're expecting two feet of snow and blizzard conditions there. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

My son has only been at his new school for 11 days and when we get hit on Wednesday he will likely have another snow day - it will be his 4th snow day in just over 2 weeks. He loves it here!

I just love the thread title! My dirty mind thought something else! I'm in the Midwest and we are under a storm watch through Wednesday night. I guess we are supposed to get hit with ice and snow over the next few days. I'm with you, if it's gonna hit, make it so I don't have to go out! I want to play hooky from school hahahaha!

"Tonight I can no longer hold it. Get it up, get it up! I can't wait anymore."
Back to the intended subject, I live in Michigan and they are predicting 10 to 15 inches of snow for my area over the next 48 hours. I'll have to see it to believe it. Can't tell you how often in the past they have predicted a foot of snow and either we ended up with nothing or only a few inches. I stopped by a couple of grocery stores this evening and all of them were PACKED! People are all in a panic. It's really kind of funny. "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! You're taunting me. I won't have it.
As for the snow, I want all or nothing. Big snow or no snow. I don't want any doubt about whether I could have made it to work or not. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

but I wasn't I was like.. a) will I get bopped if I pray she gets snow - and it happens? b) can we actually stick to the forecast here of 2" - 4" tomorrow? yes.. I am getting a little tired of it.. gimme a few big blizzards in the season; not every week.. [Edited 1/31/11 22:51pm] Hag. Muse. Web Goddess. Taurean. Tree Hugger. Poet. Professional Nerd. Geek.
