CHICAGO WILL FINALLY GET A SNOW DAY

Hip Hip hooray!!!! We're gonna be snowed in tomorrow. Ice, thunder and 27 inches of snow predicted with blizzard like winds!! They say the wind will be so strong it will cause flooding on Lake Shore Drive from lake Michigan.

Please bring the snow on so that we can pretend like we live in the ATL for a good 24 hours. Im praying beg the power doesnt go out so I can lay up and watch lifetime all day long. Baby making time!!!

LOVE HARD.

Took me two hours to get home yesterday. Once again Chicago majorly fucked up the snow removal process. Thanks Chicago. thumbs up!

UPDATE: I tried as hard as I could to get to work this morning but there is a 4 foot snow drift pressing against the door of my building. Im literally SNOWED IN. I just called my superior and shes also clueless as to how she will get to work after she shovels her car out of her garage.

SWEET HOME CHICAGO!!!

We have gotten 18 inches of snow with another 2-5 expected this morning. The winds are gusting at 40-50 mph and the snow drifts are mammoth! Im taking my mom's advice and practice some good common sense. Im taking a SNOW DAY!

Where do you work? I mean, what do you do for a living? Unless you're a cop, firefighter, ER doctor or nurse, paramedic, power line worker, repair broken water mains, or plow snow off streets, you shouldn't even be thinking about going outside today. no no no! Heck, when Tom Skilling and all of the local news outlets tell people to stay home, you should do that.

^ OMG!!!eek

That looks like a scene from a disaster movie. Ive heard the stories of people being rescused by firefighters and guardsmen from CTA buses and private vehicles. This blizzard really is one for the record books. Yup, Im in for the day! nod

Comcast service phone, internet and cable out for 2 hrs, last night, Lights flashing on and off until about 2am, Lake Shore Drive shut down. CLTV keeps replaying a fat lady sliding and falling on Wacker Drive...Oh My!

Looking out the window this am, is some Staight Bull shit. How are we ever going to get out of this? I just got a car wash 2 days ago to get the salt off my car...now look.

I have no gumption to get my ass up and shovel my car out. The city has plowed additional snow on top and around my car. all you see is windshield wiper up in the air and by 4pm it'll be frozen....between the snow and cold, I say every year it's time to leave Chi-town!

To me, too. I mean...the forecasters were pretty much right on with their predictions about timing and amounts for this storm. Why were people still out there? And on Lakeshore Drive, for crying out loud! They had Heavy Freezing Spray warnings on top of the lake snow warnings, blizzard warnings and everything else. confuse

I live 150 miles NW of Chicago, but we still got nailed. I watched the radar all morning and made sure I left work before the snow hit. Good thing, too - because when it hit, it hit hard.

I think part of it, my own sister included, is that people were not allowed to go home before this mess all started. They fully expected my sister to be at work today too.

Y'know...as much as I bitch about my job sometimes, the company's really pretty good when it comes to letting people "opt out" of working when the weather's horrendous. They know many of us have long commutes over a highway that drifts or ices over at the drop of a hat.

Of course, I don't work in an area that affects operations on a day-to-day basis. Might be different if I did.

Hope your sister made it home safely!

Yep. She didn't go in today but they told her if she didn't come in today, it is an unexcused absence. disbelief
