It is the only decent reality show because it is real. It does show just how horrible some of our restaurants are and the overall low quality of American culture. It is a sad reminder. The idea that a brit like Gordon Ramsey has to remind us of this is embarrassing.

It does make one hungry though..lol

Gordon Ramsey is mean but I tend to agree with everything he does. Those people tend to neeed the kick in the ass. Makes you wonder the next time you walk into a restaurant, what evil lurks inside.

Also, a good measure of how clean the kitchen may be is if you check the restroom. Clean restroom usually indicates a clean kitchen... not always but more often than not...

Also its all over the place one mom and pop operation was one of the cleanest I've ever worked in and the most upscale one was a complete dump in the back of the house.

If you think bout it too much going out to eat can become a real nightmare. I know a friend who spent 20 years in the industry and now refuses to eat out anywhere. You just have to let it fly over your head and hope you dont get food poisoning.

i am not a big gordon ramsey fan (yelling , swearing etc ) but kitchen nightmares is the only show that i watch weekly ...

i love it . just the concept of trying to help a failing restaurant etc ... and i love to hear his take on things (usually the menu is too big and the food sucks lol )

it's not just american kitchens that are vile at times, there have already been several

seasons of kitchen nightmares UK with gordon ramsey.

after a while it gets kinda the same tho. clueless owners, who often have a chef that

is just scratching his balls on the job, lots of yelling, angry owners cussing at gordon,

new menu, new decor, good opening night, owners do a 360, everyone's happy.

but i still watch it because it makes me laugh.

the best bit is when he comes in first time and tries some of their dishes, love how it

always ends up

"he's gonna love it, we have the best ...... he will have ever tasted"

a few minutes later

"how was it gordon?"

"it was absolutely vile and it tasted like shit"

i made chicken and vegetable soup from scratch this weekend and once i finished

the kitchen looked as if it had been used to cook a decade of school lunches and

had never been cleaned.

What's amazing is how clued out the owners are.

It does show how America has no incentive of quality. Gordon cannot fix every restaurant in the country.

What really amazes me is that almost every restaurant survives. This shows you the genius of Ramsay. He may be mean but he is seldom wrong.

What about that Indian one Dillons? Cockroaches, rats, dirty, dirty. And Casa Roma! Erick the shitty chef--"oh, you mean I have to actually cook food?" The pee on the ceiling? Good lord.
