Well you clearly need to learn more about America. Because our TV programs don't resemble 99% our population in the least. Do yours? And does your country punish it's moronic parents in some way that I'm unaware of? ..... aaaaanyway.

I was teasing lol hence the razz at the end of my post.

our tv programming is full of reality shows - 75% imported content, and 90% of that from US

Our population is much smaller than yours but yes, because they broadcast so many of those programs (those and sitcoms) it's easy for the average aussie to shake their head and think "only in america".

I haven't seen enough moronic parent behaviour IRL in my life to even think of even complaining about it confuse so, in reading that so many of you HAVE complaints, I come to the conclusion that something IS different where I live, and perhaps it's not in that parents are punished but they are more widely catered for?

In my post earlier to johnart, I detailed the places families can choose to dine at. Do you have places like that there? hmmm

And that's great, to get a drink and appetizer. I'm not eating my meals at no bar to accomodate screaming children. Fuck that shit. lol

Some decent restaurants have bars and I'm not talking olive garden ( confused ). Where you can get great food.

I don't hate kids, just stupidity, and I put no age restrictions on that. Foolish kids tend to grow up into foolish adults. Grown folk running rampant, being super loud and having tantrums is not cute. That shit needs to be corrected as young as possible!

Oh yeah, forgot to reply boxed

Off the top of my head I can't think of specific places that have stuff to entertain kids during dinners except for places like Chuckee Cheese or some McDonald/BK's with playgrounds. hmmm

Of course I don't hate kids. I happen to make a pretty awesome Mommy/Auntie.

I just don't feel I need to be made to share in tantrums or misbehavior of others (young and old) during my times (especially when paying good money) of relaxation/enjoyment.

That must be an older picture. You both look like you should be in an 80s synth new wave band. Shoot, Ron looks like he just got fired from Tears For Fears. lol

I can handle loud, obnoxious children at Chuck E Cheese's, or any other family amusement place similar to that. My nephew goes to Chuck's fairly often (couple or three times a year) and I can handle pretty much anything there up to being physically pushed out of the way at a game I paid to play (which has happened) OR a screaming tantrum. No part of a screaming tantrum is fun. If you're a parent and it makes you uncomfortable, TRUST that it does the same to the people around you. If it doesn't make you uncomfortable, get a clue! lol A child having a screaming tantrum at such an establishment should still be taken aside, outside, or home - whichever stops it from continuing.

I remember the siggy you once had that read,

"I W I L L K I L L YOU"

I knew right then and there you were not he kind of mom for your kids to mess with lol , it's like that old turn of the phrase when parents used to say 'Listen kid, I brought you into this world, and I can take you out " falloff

or: "why can't all kids be made the same without any intellectual and/or behavioural and/or
other challenges?"

so unfair we can't treat them all the same and they all turn out just as expected!! hammer

and so unfair when we make the decision to be parents that we can't pick and choose what our kids' temperaments are going to be like pissed I would have picked:

quiet

obliging

conformist

grateful

appreciative

understanding

attractive

sigh I guess it's asking too much of a 2-6 year child, I mean most adults don't even tick all of those boxes.

Damn lol

Yeah, that pic if from 2000. Cody was our foster child, whom we hoped to adopt till the "system" insisted that his scummy abusive parents had more rights than him. He's probably back in some backwood now shootin squirrels and darker folk than him. sigh

You can't pay me to even drive past Chuck E Cheeses, let alone take my nephew. I tried it twice. First time we take him after his mom died, and I'm sitting in this loud ass place surrounded by loud ass kids, and I look over...some bratty kid has decided all these games are not fun enough so he will play with the soda dispensers instead...

Yup....that brat was MY nephew! *facepalm*

Let me tell you, it was a PLEASURE to have my uterus removed!

I don't hate kids. I have two of my own. Kids will be kids. They will always test limits and behave badly at the most unexpected and mortifying times. The parents are the key.

Hell yes my little angels acted up when we were out. I didn't stand for it. Either they stopped or we left and that was a quick decision. I H.A.T.E. when parents just try to ignore it away. It doesn't often work and can take forever for the tantrum, the entire places has to endure, to end.

Parents need to realize they are the parents. Yes, we want our angels happy, but in the end MIND. "Because I said so..." a perfectly good reason. I will explain and listen to your feelings and wants, but in the end I am the parent.
I'm firmly planted in denial

I've called a parent out not too long ago in a store. The "Parent" had 2 kids and these kids decided that they wanted to play bow and arrow in the store. I didn't know this until an arrow came over the top of the display and hit me in the arm. 1 of the lil boys came running around to my side of the isle to get his toy. I asked him where his mom was and marched them to the her and told her what happend. This chick just looked at me like I was stupid. I told her that she was lucky that it only hit me in the arm because if it would have hit me in the face it would have been on. By this time 1 of the workers in the store had come over and told the mom that she had seen what happend. She told the mom that if she didn't control her kids, she would be asked to leave. I mean really to be asked to leave the $1.00 store. I have no tolerance for wild ass kids.

I have been know to help a kid find the floor if you know what I mean. lol lol
