Ummmm...37 is young. Trust me.
I never wore foundation - ever - 'til I was 45. And I don't need it now. (When I play golf in the summer, for example, I just use a sunscreen that has a slight tint.) But there's no question that it does even everything out and make you look better.
Just wait 'til your estrogen level goes in the toilet. That's all I'm sayin'.

Well, I hope my face doesn't suddenly become all uneven...I've never had anything but perfect skin my whole life (even now with the wrinkles)...it's the only thing I've had that is naturally nice.
But if it does, I'll definitely use foundation...but I'll probably water it down with a moisturizer though so it's not so heavy.
My skin tone is still good. But then, I've always had freckles, so the age spots don't show as much.
I used to hate foundation - couldn't find one that I like. (They all looked chalky, to me.) But now, I use Laura Geller's Spackle (which is a primer) and Phenomenal Foundation. They look very good. Sheer, light, and not chalky, at all. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves. |

I'm a light freckle face too - well in the summer...maybe I just don't notice changes. |

I'll try it Erin, thanks. Where can you find that stuff at?
I never wear make up on my lower lid, it never looks right on me, although I'm prob just doing it wrong. I'm not much of a make up artist.
Sephora or JC Penney.
Cover Girl makes a cream blush that's pretty good - it's the one with Ellen DeGeneres on it.
Blend with your fingers or the sponge that comes with it. Then rub, rub, rub (lightly but a lot) until you can't tell where the blush ends and your natural skin color begins (on all sides). It's what you make it. |

It took me a looooong time to notice. And when I did, it was mostly because I saw stuff happening on other women's faces and thought, "Wow - I wonder if my skin...?" Comparatively speaking, though, I'm still doing well. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves. |

If you want a glowing, flushed blush look, you need to get a liquid blush/cheek stain.
Like this stuff.
Dot a circle of dots on, then quickly blend out. Repeat and put a layer of powder on. Your cheeks will look airbrushed and pinky.
That's what I was gonna say!
I brought myself some of this when I was shopping for your SS gift! I have fallen in love with it.
I use that Lemon Aid stuff every day! It's what you make it. |

Well, I'm not young...I'm turning 37 this year. So far, foundation will not be touching my face but I never used to wear concealer and now I do...a little.
But I hope I'll be like my mom, 63, wears a clean face and looks 15 years younger than she is.

They just don't know, G! She's still a baby! Ha! To be 37 again...
I never, ever wore foundation. I was pretty lucky and got blessed with good skin--no blemishes/pimples and an even skin tone. When I do put on "makeup" I use a little blush, mascara and lipstick and I'm done. I never got into the makeup thing with foundation, shadow, liner, etc. I was too lazy and I didn't like the sensation of that stuff on my face. I remember years ago I was dating a guy who told me, "I like how you do your face." I didn't quite understand what he meant since I didn't "do my face," which I thought he meant applying makeup. I said, "What do you mean?" and he said, "I like that you don't wear all that shit on your face." |

Y'know what's funny? Even as long as Sweetie and I have been together, he still thinks I don't wear much make-up. If he only knew!

Artful application is everything.
It really is.
I used to wear foundation only occasionally, but as I've gotten older my rosecea has gotten worse. I started wearing it every day a few years ago as the pink has started to get more prounounced as I get older. I have been told repeatedly people didn't realize I wear make up (other than my eyeliner) - I think Supa even said it here.
Incidentally, I've never worn blush. Ever. I try so hard to get rid of the pink on my skin, it always seems silly to try to add some back. I just don't "get" blush. |

I've never worn it, either. I have a small pot of creme blush that I keep in my stage make-up (stage lighting washes you out completely). But I never wear it in "real life." We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves. |

What is there not to get about blush?
It's no different than putting color on your eyelids or lips. It's all about creating different looks to suit different tastes.
And it's an easy (as opposed to other tricks of the trade) to contour.

I don’t know. I just always think it looks ridiculous on me. Like a little girl trying on her mother’s make-up to look grown up and ending up looking more like a clown. It’s just alien-looking to me. |

But that's just personal taste. There's folk that think green or purple or even yellow/gold on an eye looks dumb, but it can be oh-so-fierce when done right. |
