Lawsuit to Taco Bell: Where's the beef?
By BOB JOHNSON, Associated Press Bob Johnson, Associated Press – Mon Jan 24, 7:58 pm ET
The lawsuit says that Taco Bell's "seasoned beef" contains other ingredients, including water, wheat oats, soy lecithin, maltodrextrin, anti-dusting agent and modified corn starch.
[Edited 1/25/11 9:52am]
THA FUCK IS THAT SHIT????????????????

But they didn't mention one other ingredient....SILICON DIOXIDE...(a.k.a. SAND)...as an "anti-caking" agent.

I got inside the kitchen at a Pizza Hut one time. They literally have spray cans of grease that they spray on top of all the pizzas. It's pretty disgusting lol. |

Honestly, I'm surprised people didn't already know this. As a vegan I obviously make it my priority to KNOW what I'm putting into my body, but I really am surprised at the amount of fuss going on over this because it reminds me that so many people are just reckless and really don't give a shit about whatever shit they shovel in their mouths.
Was anyone really expecting high quality food for a few bucks at a fast food establishment? If you think this is bad, do some research into the shit that all those places are selling. Go and look into what's REALLY in your KFC or whatever.
I used to work for KFC back in Louisiana. And I can honestly tell you that the seasoning for the extra crispy chicken is definitely MSG-driven. I can't comment on Popeye's spicy chicken seasoning because I never work there. But I can tell you that I have known some people that worked for Popeye's that can comfirm that pork-grease is used for the red beans & rice. |

You don't go to Taco Bell for Mexican. You go to Taco Bell for Taco Bell.
We have plenty (almost too many, actually) authentic Mexican eateries here.
That's where we go for actual Mexican food.
That would be like going to Pizza Hut for pizza.

Twisted or snuffers!
but i am going to try Kincaid's soon!
(i also make a mighty fine burger myself... i am in the good meat and season it with some bits (pickles. onions, cheese, peppers) in the meat (but you got to get as much moisture out of it as you can or it might fall apart) and grilled with charcoal and wood medium rare. I'd just as well assumed all fast food meat was of pretty mysterious composition, but I thought I'd heard Taco Bell's beef was some of the better stuff we'd find in the fast food sector. Oh, well.
I'll eat that stuff maybe once every three months if I'm on the road and my only other quick option is, say, Mcdonald's. Most times my Mexican comes from local mom-and-pop vendors; Chipotle if I'm going with a chain. [Edited 1/25/11 12:22pm] Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

We can all sit in front of our computers and talk about McDonald's like a dog. But yet, at least 50% of the orgers here are still going over to that same McDonald's for the breakfast menu during morning rush hour.
And beside, Burger King's breakfast menu is THE highest in sodium! |

i did not say they would eat it... just admit it is good. I have remember when a local Mexican place stopped using lard in their food. it was noticeable. And I submit that it is better for you than vegetable fats like Crisco. As at least Lard is in natural state (melt the fat and put it in a jar) as opposed to Crisco. My daughter forced the entire family into a McDonald's and Burger King boycott. Zero tolerance -- we can't even get icewater. We're going on 5 years now.
If I tell her this latest news, I'm sure she'll be adding Taco Bell. (I may not, though, 'cause every few months a steak er... sand Chalupa kinda hits the spot. ) [Edited 1/25/11 12:26pm] Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

Ok literally my heart is breaking a bit. I try to avoid fast food like the plague that it is but my one guilty pleasure has always been Taco Bell. To know that I have consumed sand, among other non-edible items, is just plain depressing. It's got to be a conspiracy of sorts between the fast food corporations and the pharmaceutical companies. We are meant to consume this crap then suffer the physical consequences which can no doubt be remedied with some man made chemical/drug. I will discontinue eating Taco Bell....it will take awhile though as I've no doubt that crack is another unlisted ingredient.
I just found out that the red dye in marachino cherries stays in your body for 2 years.

I don't think I've eaten at Burger King/McD's/Taco Hell, etc since the late 90s. I think I had potato olés (flattened tater tots) at Taco Johns a couple years ago, but definitely no "meat". I don't even go to Subway, although I did have Jimmy John's a couple of years ago (same trip as the Taco John's). I don't even really buy pizza by the slice in NYC unless there are no other options. Chipotle is as close as it gets, and I always order vegetarian. I would probably get violently ill if I ate fast food now.
