According to the article, the appeal is based on not just the physical, but the type of sex that's had.

James Colangelo, PsyD states "When females see something that is sexually explicit but that they can't fully understand, it leaves room for their imagination to go wild. I also am very critical of cinematic porn (straight or gay) at this point in my life, but I admittedly know it more, and I'd argue sensuality is the key ingredient in all of it. I'm the exact opposite. A lot of the gay porn turns me off because the guys look too much like pretty boys.
