The New British Invasion... "Piers Morgan is the last straw"

I think it started with Simon Cowell..but it has to end with this Piers Morgan guy. His interview with Oprah was horrible (he actually bet her he could interview Mike Vick before her!..arrogant fool, Vick said he doesn't even know who he is) and just noticed how many Brits are on American tv.

Anyway CNN just had a little skit about it and I was wondering, can anyone explain how this happend? Is it really as simple as a British accent is more acceptable when Simon,Supernanny,Jamie Oliver or any other token Brit judge says "you suck"?

In Simon Cowell's case I think it had more to do with having the correct opinion 99% of the time and being refreshingly honest than with having an accent.

I totally agree...I was wondering if his success launched something...almost every talent showed had the opinionated Brit...anyone couldn't played supernanny,right?....any chef couldn't went to West Virginia and changed the school lunch menu...right?

What made me curious was that I was watching CNN and after a commercial for Christiane Amanpour's show on ABC,a beautiful British woman on Anderson Coopers show was talking about the Ricky Gervais drama and he'd be on Piers Morgan's show.....I was like "Bloody Hell"?!!.....lol

yeah I agree after Simon it seemed all the talent shows needed a saucy Brit lol

But I think British people have been in American pop culture, generally, for a long time

stupid to challenge Oprah like that. I've actually never heard of the guy (one of the few things Michael Vick & I have in common)

MEMO: Although the British Invasion was started by The Beatles in the 1960's, it never truly ended after going 5 decades strong.

Just ask The Spice Girls! wink

Piers Morgan? Please keep him. Tosser. Responsible for a number of deaths in Iraq for one of his newspaper articles. Bloke deserves a bullet.
