This is not about politics, this is about humanity... How can you feel good calling George W. Bush stupid all the time? How many of you regularly call George W. Bush stupid?
Have you ever mis-spoken or stammered when speaking in public? It seems to me that everyone really likes to belittle others when they wouldn't appreciate it if people belittled them. ... Strangely enough, I have some compassion in me... but this isn't about compassion as much as it is about "the pot calling the kettle black" and such. SUPERJOINT RITUAL - http://www.superjointritual.com

Yes, I know you have compassion But it's just Bush's primary characteristic--each President has been picked on for some sort of personal thing. Bush's lack of intellectual prowess is his "thing" he gets picked on for. I wouldn't feel too sorry for him, though, he can handle it...

Frankly I feel sorry for the guy about now. First 9/11 and now the shuttle disaster. Every president wants to be remembered for something and frankly I think IMO that GW wants to be the pres that took out saddam and avenged his dad, but really though 2 HUGE tradegies during one presidency sucks for anyone whether you agree with the polics or not. We all should know that diversity makes for a rich tapestry, and we must understand that all the threads of the tapestry are equal in value no matter what their color. Maya Angelou

It's not so much that he messes up, but what he messes up on, in a Freudian manner...for example:
"We need an energy bill that encourages consumption."—Trenton, N.J., Sept. 23, 2002 "I need to be able to move the right people to the right place at the right time to protect you, and I'm not going to accept a lousy bill out of the United Nations Senate."—South Bend, Ind., Oct. 31, 2002 "You see, the Senate wants to take away some of the powers of the administrative branch."—Washington, D.C., Sept. 19, 2002 And my favorite: "There's an old saying in Tennessee—I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee—that says, fool me once, shame on—shame on you. Fool me—you can't get fooled again."—Nashville, Tenn., Sept. 17, 2002 -Hey, I got nothing against the guy, except maybe 75% of his policies. The one thing I was surprised by is that so many people voted for him. He's got a 2nd grade vocabulary at best, he's a grandson of an oil tycoon, it's obvious he was admitted to Yale based on his family's name, and most, if not all, of his policies are geared toward the wealthiest Americans and large industry. That's not to say Clinton's policies were far better and I don't pretend to defend him either, but at least you knew who was driving the boat. I don't get the sense that ol W knows what he's doing, esp with his gung-ho attitude toward what seems to be an inevitable war with Iraq, his policies on Affirmative Action, and his lack of fiscal responsibility. I do get the sense that he's become this impulsive ideologue who's loose at the wheel, without a sense of history or purpose. Even George Bush Sr's policies were more moderate and pragmatic. I think history will show this to be true, but not before our deficit hits over $1 trillion, we start a war with a country who's never attacked us and who's military isn't a twentieth of ours, we've pissed off the rest of the world with an arrogant foreign policy, and except for the upper 10%, our economy is in complete ruins. "Great dancers are not great because of their technique, they are great because of their passion" -- Martha Graham
