Do you limit yourself to the clothes you wear? I made a promise that:
I'll never wear a pair of jeans. The only brands of shoes I'll wear are Vans and Converse. And the only pants I wear are Dockers. Being Cool Is Not A Look Or Style,It's A Personality

Hell No! I love clothes too much. My wardrobe is quite varied. Limiting yourself to one brand of pants or shoes is like eating the same food everyday. Yuck. I'M NOT SAYING YOU'RE UGLY. YOU JUST HAVE BAD LUCK WHEN IT COMES TO MIRRORS AND SUNLIGHT!

There are a few things I won't wear, but that has to do with body type and age more than anything else. I agree with HotGritz... I need to vary my wardrobe.

Primarily because I've got a mean case of OCD, about nine out of every 10 items of clothing I've bought in the past four years have been from Banana Republic. It helps that they offer decent quality, are comprehensive enough that they can dress me from my drawers to my eyeglasses, and take up a general design approach of modern classic over trend. And while BR is mid to upmarket, I've actually found that I save considerable money on clothing from having fallen into the habit of not browsing elsewhere... even when BR is boring me.
That said, I've made no promise to forgo other brands. I don't see the point in being that absolute. BR is the foundation of my wardrobe, but I'll occasionally buy must-have or "showcase" pieces that catch my eye from here and there so as to maintain my own individual style.

I won't wear a muffin top, or any item of sausage skin tightness that induces one. Sadly that's half of my wardrobe these days

Okay... I forgot my strong aversion to flip-flops and Crocs. "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. Now your words don't mean a thing. I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..." -Cher, "Woman's World"

Ex-Moderator | I don’t wear animal fur. That’s about the only hard and fast rule I have.
About 90% of my clothes are black, with white, pink, green and brown being the only other colors in my wardrobe, really.
I have to like how I look to wear something, that’s for sure, and I tend towards a certain style (which is really just kinda my own) but I haven’t banished any one type of clothing. |

I own 3 pairs of jeans and I don't look good in any of them. I've never looked good in jeans. I just don't like them. |

I've long advocated for a World Uniform (like in that Seinfeld bit, we should all vote). I still support:
Black would be the most serviceable.

Never wear jeans??? Wow!?
I love my jeans. I just bought another pair last week. They are the Not Your Daugher's Jeans and they're an awesome fit and so comfortable.

I don't wear jeans . . . ever. And very rarely wear pants except for sweatpants. I love dresses and skirts. I'm the queen of the polo dress and have more than 40 in every possible color. That with a pair of "white girls" is my casual uniform most of the year. [Edited 1/21/11 9:11am]

Nope, I work in corporate health care and dress up everyday. I like different looks and fashion and as long as if fits good and looks nice.. that's what works for me.
I have about 7 regular suites I bought over the years.
This past year I was introduced to several second had thrift stores and got alittle bit addicted to the deals.
I have about 30 sports coats (average 2$ each) and 300 ties (average $.05 cents each) that I bought and get compliments all the time. I enjoy dressing up everyday.
I like being casual on the weekends or hanging at home but still try to have style.
I do like jeans with my p-coat and boots....
I think womens in jeans and pumps are hot!!! [Edited 1/21/11 9:17am] "

no, it really doesn't | |
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
You're right - it really doesn't. All it proves is that there's a critical mass for rankness (for jeans, anyway) - and that it's achieved early on.
You want to wash your jeans before they reach that state – in other words, after just a few wearings. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

It varies. I'm allergic to most wools...just thinking about wool makes me want to itch. I like wearing jeans, but I can only wear mid-rise jeans, nothing low rise...they irritate me to no end. I prefer to be more casual. I'm not into skirts and dresses really. When it comes to going to a job interview, a funeral, and to a dressy affair, that is one thing, but usually I don't do the whole girly thing. A tee shirt, jeans, and flip flops are my speed. I wear my Ugg boots a lot (during the Winter), I'm trying to get my wear out of them because I've never been a Uggs person and I just want to get rid of them. I own 2 pairs, but I wear one pair in the house and the other pair are water proof which I wear in the snow only.

I can't remember the last time I left my home not wearing jeans.

Actually, I wouldn't wear it because I thought the pink pumps would clash with the red gas can.

Umm, hmm. No, because if I like something I'll wear it. But yes, because I don't like some styles, cuts or types of clothing. Hope that makes sense. Also, I wear a lot of black.
