Update on stinky coworker who literally smelled like ass

Black Adder contacted me re an update on my situation-for those who don't know, they can read the original thread here:

http://prince.org/msg/100/350694

But anyway, my boss's boss ended up talking to "Estelle." I wasn't around when it happened, but I heard it didn't go well-she left the meeting in tears. The result is, she doesn't stink anymore or wear perfume.

It was such a touchy situation.

It's good your boss handled it and didn't leave it to you, because that's what bosses get paid for. (They shouldn't try to delegate everything lol )

It's sad her feelings were hurt, but she needed the truth. I hope she stays on track and doesn't fall off the perfume wagon any time soon.

Now that's a damn shame she had to be talked to in the first place.

well, we figured her feelings would be hurt, whether it was a negligence issue or a medical issue...

- but glad she fixed it... and that you didn't have to give the talk. smile

Correct, no crying in the workplace unless there has been a death.

That's a dilemma, isn't it though... You don't want to embarress someone but then again having to work around that scent day in and day out can be intolerable... I know, I've had to do it. If someone isn't bathing, that is a sign of some kind of mental stress and/or depression. It is kinder to let the person know (maybe a note?) that they care and hope that person can get some help...

I bet she went home and asked her close friends/relatives if she really smelled bad. I also bet she didn't like the answer.
