Still got mine, since I'm on DSL and have older relatives that know the home number well. It has it's conveniences since it never needs charging.

This is the first time in YEARS we've had one (and don't use it). We needed a line for the alarm system.

I wish they had the same deals for landlines as for cell phones, because they are a lot better to talk on than cell phones.

You can switch your DSL off the phone line, switch to Vonage for 35 a month and keep your phone number. I did that two years ago when I got tired of them high ass bills from AT&T. I still have my DSL with them but that's it. cool

I'm happy with it and I work at home holding meetings which a celly isn't really good for. With Vonage I get every possible feature included plus cheap intl calls which I had to pay for separately with AT&T for $35 a month.

I do. I miss the good old days when you could order a phone in any color you wanted..

I once went antiquing, and they had vintage phones. A little girl asked her mom there, "what's that..." "how does it work?" it was an old dial phone. God forbid the number you were trying to call had alot of 9's in it

I ditched my land line 7 years ago. Haven't missed it.

My brother-in-law has Vonage and has been very happy with it. I got rid of my land line last year when it started costing lots of money just to have basic service. I didn't make any long distance calls on it. I live in the country in the midwest and was actually on dial up until last year. I know, I know! Not too many options in my area but found one that works for me!!

My husband and I each have cell phones, but we still have our land line. The land line is pretty useless, though, since we ditched caller I'd and long distance. I don't know why we don't just give it up.

after I get my cell phone, and if I manage to use it, I think we will ditch our landline. Or maybe I should wait until my grandma passes on? hmmm
