Knowing that doesn't do us much good, though - it isn't available on video.
I was so bummed the last time TCM had Fredric March as their Star of the Month - and they didn't play this. It's been several years since I've seen it.
We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.
The first time I watched Serenity in the theater, I would have burst into tears if my brother and dad were not sitting next to me. That could have been very embarrassing.

When Wash died?
I'm sorry but I thought that movie (we are talking the Firefly movie, right?) was really average
Oh yeah for sure, me too. That one got a lot of people. Especially anybody who loved the first two because it really felt like an ending. But that's a good example of me not crying. I was SUPER emotional when I saw that in the theater and other people all over the place were wiping their eyes at several different points during the movie. But the water works didn't actually flow for me. I know I'm sad, and I can feel the weight of the movie or scene. Just, no tears. It takes a lot for that to happen.

I cried more in Toy Story 2 when Jessie told her story

I thought that a few years back, before I had seen the TV series, but watching it again was much more enjoyable. Still I thought the TV shows were better for some reason. Maybe they tried to make the movie too serious, and the humor was the best part of the show.

I'm watching it on YOUTUBE.
Imma watch that when I get home! Thanks!

Well you're wrong. But that's OK, I still love ya.
I'm a huge sci-fi buff, though never followed the series, so it seemed like a tele movie to me. I can't even remember it now, was that the movie that had the bad guys stick bones to the outside of their spaceships to be badass? or am I thinking of a different movie?

Serenity was made for $39 million and it looks much better than that. I never thought it looked like a tv movie, but I thought the series looked better than most of what was on tv, too. As a wrap-up to the WAY prematurely cancelled tv show (probably the only one we'll ever get outside of the comic books) I found it to be EXTREMELY satisfying. And while I definitely think the movie was better if you had seen the series, a newbie could watch the movie and still enjoy it as well.
Oh yeah, attempting to stay on topic, it didn't make me cry.

yes, it made good TV, but not a great movie. It was always more character driven than great plot/effects, as good TV generally is.

you didn't answer my question about the bones
The Reavers, yes. Zombies in space. From the series...
"If they take the ship, they'll rape us to death, eat our flesh, and sew our skins into their clothing - and if we're very very lucky, they'll do it in that order."
And yes, they tie BODIES to the hulls of their ships.

I reckon that you DO need to see the series to love it as much as YOU and sexton do
