Also, what if I quit my job? I'd like the business to continue to have a Facebook account without having my personal login info.

So what do you do, create duplicate personal accounts? I am researching this, but have not gotten a good answer. It seems you can be kicked off of facebook for having multiple accounts.

If the second account is purely for networking purposes, why not use LinkedIn?

yeah I agree. I am totally uninterested in liking my shampoo's page on facebook

But people such as our board members are asking me if we are on facebook. I figure it can't hurt, and it will help me personally if I do what my bosses want.

I would. I'm sure a couple of accounts would be ok - Some .orgers have 2 accounts. Maybe you should link it to a different email account than your other facebook account...

And yes, as far as I know it has to be tied to a personal account, and you're not supposed to have to of them. But I know many people do have multiple accounts. I'm not sure if you can use the same name & different email addresses, though.

Yeah. I have a professional/work email that I use every day, so I used that, and then my personal email address goes with my personal FB account. It was a good thing for me, because the person I work for on that business email (as a freelancer) is someone I want to see a professional side of me, not the goofy/stupid idiot I am on my regular Facebook. So I have one that is professionally oriented and related to this one specific area of my professional life and another to be stupid on.

Yep. Some people have found me because of that, but not many. If they do, I usually just either tell them the truth about keeping the accounts separate, or else I say, "Oh, I'm phasing that one out because [insert generic reason here]" and they're usually okay with that.

I manage both pages from my personal account (and you can add admins, if you have someone that works with you, Positivity is co-admin on my biz pages) and they stay separate (only my friends see my personal page).

That's whole point of fan/biz pages. You don't have to know the people who follow you.

Tho you hope to know them just enough at some point to do business with them.

I "liked" the page (I was the first ), but then "unliked" it because I don't know if you want to keep it to only clients. I'll be happy to "like" it again and "suggest" it so that folk I know in the area might see it.

Re-liked (still first ) and sent out suggestion but fb decided to act dumb, so I can't really tell if the suggestion went out or not, so anyone who's reading this and is my fb friend, let me know if they got one. otherwise will send out again.
