That reminds me of this one:

"Love Hurts.
Your lies, they cut me.
Now your words don't mean a thing.
I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..."

I'll be darned - according to America Online's front page, today is the 40th anniversary of "All in the Family". And the scene they chose to put up on their front page?

When Archie met Sammy!

I've been trying to find it on youtube and can't, but my favorite sitcom scene is on "Roseanne"

The ladies are at work sitting around the lunch table and they tell Roseanne that she got the last good man out there, Dan.

Roseanne asks them "Do you think he came like that?" and goes on to compare a man to an oatmeal cookie.

She takes the cookie and says, "First you have to undo all the things their mama did for them," and she flicks off the raisins.

"Then you have to undo all the things their past girlfriends did to them," and she breaks off little pieces.

"Then you have a decent cookie," and she takes a big bite out of it.

Now, I'm paraphrasing, but that's the gist of it. Cracks me up just thinking about it, which I do everytime someone tells me how wonderful my husband it.

I'm firmly planted in denial

nod The reference to the Bob Newhart Show of years prior was absolutely brilliant!

πρὸς ὀλίγον ἐστὶ τὸ ζῆν
τὸ τέλος ὁ χρόνος ἀπαιτεῖ.”

I had to watch it on cable in reruns in the early '80s. My parents never let us watch it when it was originally on. But I think either TBS or WGN reran it around '82 or something, and that's when I caught it (it was on in the afternoon, when I could sneak watching it).
