I Love You Philip Morris

This movie is just sick, it's so good. So much fun. I wish all of you would see it!

Awards consideration screener. biggrin Watched it last night. I liked it, but it wasn't at ALL what I was expecting. I'd really like to say quite a bit but I'm going to wait until more people have seen it before doing so.

It really worked well in a packed theater on the big screen, the audience gasps and laughter and sadness are a layer of the experience.

I think I probably gasped and laughed at all those same places. It was hard not to. lol And I did like it. Again, I'd rather not discuss any of what came across as negatives to me until a few more people have seen it.

Nope....had a LENGTHY delay with court hearings...the was released on a VERY limited basis...it is still in theaters...but here in Minneapolis...it is ONLY being shown Uptown in one theater at the moment after being released in early December....still have not seen it but I will...even if I have to wait until April when it comes out on DVD... shrug

Interesting. Do you know what the lawsuits were about? I did a quick internet search and found mention of "lawsuits", but they weren't really explained.

Yeah, but it was out in some places overseas last April. That's a LOOOOONG release schedule. It's already been issued as a Region A blu-ray, too. Plus all the awards show screeners that went out in the states.

I try, especially if it involves something I'm getting paid to do. I started feeling that way after the years I worked for BofA and learned a ton about how ruthless and evil big banking is on the inside. I did some contract work for Clorox some years later and I felt bad enough about that. At the end they offered me a pretty comfy salaried position to stay there and I turned it down.

Let me add, though, that I'm not all militant about it. Folks gotta do what they gotta do to survive. But for me, personally, if I can avoid working for/with certain types of companies I will.

I have actually left a job that I thought was ripping off tax payers. I had a job spending HOURS making pretty business plans with print runs in the 10s.

I found that ridiculous. We charged the council departments $75 per hour to make a little poster they could hang in their office and take home. I suppose in the scheme of things it's nothing, but really, at the end of the day, a flow chart in word would have done the job.

I haven't actually applied for a job there yet, but since the office is 5 minutes from my house, it could be a nice cushy job for me mr.green having no commute is very tempting for me, and I need a job, since working for myself is very lonely. Even part time would be nice.

I did an internal annual pep video by a chief officer (sort of like a fireside chat) for....... BP. This was before the oil leak, but after the plant blew up in Texas (they had a huge scandal that no one seems to be mentioning before the oil spill). Then some VIP peeps I knew in business told me I had worked for Satan. eek

Entertainment Weekly gave this show a great write up. Jim Carrey seems perfect for the role and I can't wait to see it. ( I can't believe that the major studios wanted to make Phillip a female. How the hell are you gonna do that when they met in jail? )

There came a time when the risk of remaining tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom. Anais Nin.

naw... I was negative about working their projects after I realized the attitude of people around me (again this was a year before the oil spill). Ended up doing more videos for Schlumberger, which seems like a decent oil related company. And quite multicultural!
