"The War Wagon" with John Wayne and Kirk Douglas

Holy moley, what a FANTASTIC movie! I bought it for $5 to watch on the flight home - best $5 I ever spent at Wal-Mart!

I don't care what anyone says - they don't make 'em like John Wayne and Kirk Douglas any more. Hell, they don't even make 'em CLOSE to the Duke.

On a star scale of 1 to 5, I give this movie star star star star star star

What exactly do you like about John Wayne movies?

No criticism here, just asking because I don´t get it.

Westerns in general really get on my nerves. Too many Sunday afternoons forced to watch hours upon hours of them with my father, I suspect. headache

John Wayne is one of the coolest people ever; at least, I think so. If you don't see it that way, then I guess you won't like his movies.

I prefer Clint Eastwood. He´s also made some brilliant westerns, plus some really amazing police movies, and on top of that he´s also a very good director and he has a much bigger repertoire, including some really moving and touching dramas.

John Wayne never appealed to me. Too macho, too conservative, borderline racist, and too much of a tough guy for me. I know that the same things can be said about Eastwood, but somehow, it doesn´t bother me when it comes to Clint....he´s still one of the coolest Americans who ever lived and he´s the type of guy I´d love to have a long conversation with.

But of course I respect your opinion. It´s just that John Wayne is not really my cup of tea and I was simply wondering why you find him so cool. He´s definitely a true Hollywood legend though, and I don´t want to talk bad about dead people. So kudos to John Wayne. wink

sweetie, seeing as how we have a normal, internet-based, healthy adult relationship i think we're both mature enough to have fun exploring, and even challenging, our own prescribed gender roles.

to be clear, if you want me to wear the pants, i'll wear them. and yes, my skirts are yours for the borrowing. will i still respect you in the morning? absolutely. hug and if it turns out that you look even better than me in my dresses, i promise not to resent you
