My kids would just die.

My son just shrugged his shoulders and said everybody would just go back to MySpace. Didn't phase him at all, go figure.

MySpace is like that long lost uncle that won't leave the house, he just keeps coming back trying to entertain you but you don't have the compunction to tell him he's stinking up the joint. lol

facebook might be issuing an IPO, but that's a rumor as well. considering they don't have a source of income as far as I understand, how could the person who stole the idea created it be a billionaire..

lol There's no way they are going to shut down Facebook. Besides the number of users on that website, they just had a hit motion picture that helped make it even more populer so it's not going anywhere. Facebook can stay; Myspace can stay...now Twitter can shut down and burn in the deepest, darkest recesses of hell because it had to come from the Devil himself anyway. evillol It's pretty much just texting, dammit. lol

Guys! I just heard that Facebook might be closing in March of this year! eek eek eek eek

Please tell me this is just some fake-ass rumour. I've had my account for ages! I don't wanna lose it!

The huffington post says it's a rumour...but is there any clout to it?

Given the fact that Facebook is co-owned by the CIA, I say good riddances.

it's just a silly rumor lol Facebook will be around forever.

It's like back in the day when msn messenger was the new 'hot' thing; every now and then the rumour popped up that you would have to pay for it/it would disappear lol

I am sure that is a rumor. The creator of Facebook just received such a big honor this year. There is no way they are going to shut it down. For what reason would they do that?

I've also recently noticed that it seems pretty standard now at the end of every news broadcast for the anchor to tell you to log into their Facebook page to respond to some story or other issue. Facebook has definitely made itself a regular part of todays culture. But eventually, probably within 3 years or so, something else will have completely replaced it (...as the hot new thing).

Yeah. Right now I think it's too early to predict its demise. But I'm already tired of it. lol

The trending topics are ridiculous, celebrities act obnoxious and certain celebrities shouldn't use it if they plan to run for office without being called the crazy wanna-be killers because they don't agree with someone's politics. Just saying.

But yeah Twitter is basically texting, plus you only have 140 characters to "express" yourself. rolleyes lol

Uhm, then don't look at the trending topics, don't follow certain celebrities. Just saying. wink

Really though, it solely depends on how you use it. And yes, of course you only have 140 characters, but the thing about it is that it is a network. It's all about finding new ideas, people, news etc. Twitter CAN be used that way. It's all about the RTs and the #s. smile
