facebook might be issuing an IPO, but that's a rumor as well. considering they don't have a source of income as far as I understand, how could the person who stole the idea created it be a billionaire..

Damn, I hope so.

I am sure that is a rumor. The creator of Facebook just received such a big honor this year. There is no way they are going to shut it down. For what reason would they do that?

I've also recently noticed that it seems pretty standard now at the end of every news broadcast for the anchor to tell you to log into their Facebook page to respond to some story or other issue. Facebook has definitely made itself a regular part of todays culture. But eventually, probably within 3 years or so, something else will have completely replaced it (...as the hot new thing).

Yeah. Right now I think it's too early to predict its demise. But I'm already tired of it.

The trending topics are ridiculous, celebrities act obnoxious and certain celebrities shouldn't use it if they plan to run for office without being called the crazy wanna-be killers because they don't agree with someone's politics. Just saying.

But yeah Twitter is basically texting, plus you only have 140 characters to "express" yourself.

Really though, it solely depends on how you use it. And yes, of course you only have 140 characters, but the thing about it is that it is a network. It's all about finding new ideas, people, news etc. Twitter CAN be used that way. It's all about the RTs and the #s.
