Guys! I just heard that Facebook might be closing in March of this year!

Please tell me this is just some fake-ass rumour. I've had my account for ages! I don't wanna lose it!

The huffington post says it's a rumour...but is there any clout to it?

that would cause a mass influx of expat-orgers... the mind boggles...

I don't believe they would be shutting down any time soon, though I wouldn't be bothered if they did. My opinion of my family has only gone down the tubes since following them on Facebook, particularly the younger ones.

Some variation of the "OH NO FACEBOOK IS GOING TO... (fill in blank)!!!!!" rumor-scare crops up every few months.

Same here. I finally deleted my Facebook a few months ago and I don't miss it AT ALL.

If this is true, all I can say is: YES!

they need to deleted myspace cause thats dead but the freak version of tattooed and pierced ppl has been around since 94. bme iam...thats really dead..they are about to release a new version like the companion website and its gonna suck

I would do the same thing, except members of my family would probably take personal offense (...serious personal offense...), when the truth is more like; I have no interest in documenting every moment of my life ...on line. So instead I just keep my profile as minimal as is necessary to keep it "active". I mainly use it just to post YouTube videos (on occasion). Right now, my entire Facebook profile consists of 4 music videos of various artists I like, nothing more. And I immediately delete anything of even a remotely personal nature.

Besides, Facebook thinks they're slick - trying to make it cool for people to give up tons of personal information for who-knows-who to see and do "what?" with. I had much more fun on MySpace (when it was the hip new thing). Facebook just feels like a bunch of relatives you don't like sitting around in your house day and night, and strangers you don't know; watching you through your window.

MySpace is like that long lost uncle that won't leave the house, he just keeps coming back trying to entertain you but you don't have the compunction to tell him he's stinking up the joint.

no!!! i only keep in touch with all my friends on FB i hate texting,aim and talking on the phone!!

Facebook is a huge business. If they were truly going under in a few months, just about every single news organization would be reporting this.

I don't think I ever deleted my friendster account. I remember my friend invited me to join. I didn't understand the big deal at the time

Friendster was exactly what Facebook is now... and then Myspace became more popular. I wonder why people, articles, reports don't mention Friendster... everyone I knew was on it. It was quite popular for a few years before Myspace took over. Facebook was limited to college peeps then.

If it was shutting down I am sure Facebook would alert all members.

At least Friendster was mentioned in the movie "The Social Network", along with MySpace.
