I agree with you on this above point . To this day, whenever I see goth kids and designer chicks there is never a doubt in my mind that they both probably take equal amounts of time to prepare their looks before leaving the house. Comformity = "action in accord with prevailing social standards, attitudes, practices"; or, "compliance or acquiescence; obedience"...the whole discussion started out with someone referring to her nails as being 'obscene' so she's not conforming at all according to the true definition of the word.

What exactly is normal? The word 'normal' to me lacks any true definition, just like the word 'perfect'. I live by the Salvador Dali's quote, "Strive not for perfection; you'll never reach it." 'Normal' and 'perfection' don't really exist like people think they do. They only remain relevant because of people's personal preferences and what they were taught by others around them.

Based on personal life experiences, I would rather be in a room full of tattooed and pierced people than in a room full of people in designer clothes and 3-piece suits. I've actually met more pleasant, interesting tattooed people than people wearing thousand dollar outfits (many of them didn't have but $100 in their bank accounts might I add ). There are really only two types of outfits: a good outfit or a bad outfit. With tattooed people, there are good tattoos and bad tattoos; but, there are also thousands of different types of designs, styles, colors, and stories so the only way they are alike is that they fit into the group labeled 'tattooed people'. At the end of the day, a look is still a look but judging anyone based more on their outward appearance than who they are on the inside just means that you may end up missing out on knowing a truly great and amazing person. Personality is the only thing that truly makes us different. Our outer shells are just an added bonus. All just my

When I say conform I'm not referring to numbers (though that is relative as well). I'm referring to fitting in and wanting to within a group where one feels most comfortable/accepted. We are all guilty of that (I shouldn't even really use the word "guilty" because I don't think that's a bad thing).

Based on personal life experience, I'd rather hang with some finely dressed folk one day, then with a group of tattooed pierced folk the next. But better yet, I rather have them ALL over for a party at my house.

i never cared for crowds ever but then i nearly broke ribs getting crushed at a korn concert and had a second night the next night....and i went to a ozzfest and nearly got trampled. i was freaking out pushing ppl out the way. not fun. they were like the running of the bulls!!! i hate crowds even more since that. give me a seat at a show!!

I was born and raised in Louisiana and I've only been to 3 Mardi Gras parades in my 29 years of life. Parades scare the dog poo out of me. I avoid them as much as possible.

No, no. This was years ago when I was in college. It was the damnedest thing too because my college town was super small. The town's claim to fame is that the movie 'Steel Magnolias' was filmed there. It had a 24-hour Wal-Mart supercenter, a drive-thru daquiri store, and a tattoo parlor...that was all I needed.

i had a 8g tongue barbell for yrs. i seen lizardmans on ripleys believe it or not and loved his. i got 2 more piercings and stretched them to 2g which is like the size of a pinky finger then used fishing line for the small pieces inbetween. some ppl do it with a scalpel. that way u get alot of regrowth and need to do it a few times. fishing line and piercings won't get regrowth and one times a charm. it doesn't feel any different. no i cant move each side independently.

yes the fishing line sucked. that was a 11 on a scale of 1-10 but i guess i hid it quite well cause my parents didn't find out for nearly 2 yrs.

but i went to best buy a few days ago and the cashier noticed it right away. go figure?!

Wowzers....I didn't pierce my ears till I was ten..I'm a little squeamish when it comes to needles..even though I have a few tats...but piercing tongues, bellybuttons ,nipples all that just makes me squirm... not to mention stretching piercings...wow..You must love pain
