Anyone else here besides me that felt that Matt Cassel was a one year

wonder all along and the Chiefs made a grave mistake in giving the

Patriots a premium second round pick for this guy. The Chiefs could have

kept that pick to themselves and continued to roll with Tyler Thigpen who

is no worse than Cassel at best and eventually get them a real starter in

free agency and the draft. Belichick just continues to maneuver and stockpile

2nd round picks. I know they have had at least 3 2nd rd picks in the draft it

seems like 3 of the last 4 years. Cassel has proven down the last two weeks

he is a very average qb.

Revis' contract is four years, $46mil with $32 guaranteed. Guaranteed money is the KEY in NFL contracts(a $100mil contract with only $5mil up front is a joke). Revis is worth every penny - just look at his recent performance. Does Asomugha deserve more than Revis? I don't know.

@phunk - Belichick also got a mid-round pick from the Vikings in the Randy Moss fiasco. Talk about getting fleeced. NFL draft picks are like gold - you can't throw them away like Minnesota did. No wonder Childress' ass is gone.

Revis is the real deal. There is a reason they leapfrogged the steelers a spot in the draft

a few years ago. They knew he was a special player. The steelers had to settle for LB Lawrence

Timmons. Not bad but not quite the impact player Revis is.

"Kevin Kolb wants out of Philadelphia if the Eagles bring back Michael Vick as their starter, sources tell beat writer Jeff McLane.

Vick is almost certainly going to be brought back via the franchise tag, so Kolb is trying to set the stage for a trade. The problem is that the Eagles likely want Kolb as a backup to the injury-prone Vick. They reportedly are asking an outrageous price for Kolb -- at least two first-round picks. Trade rumors surrounding Kolb will persist throughout the offseason."

Hey phunk

That's a tough one. I know around New England we hated the trade at the time. Mostly because we also "threw in" Mike Vrabel and a 2nd rounder for a starting QB and proven team leader like Vrabel definitely didn't seem like enough compensation. This is also only Cassel's 3rd year as a true starter and he has them in the playoffs. (or I guess I should say the team is in the playoffs).

I think this was just a bad game. I mean, Balty ripped the Pats apart last offseason. Even the best have clunkers. I think the worst part of the Chiefs game was that they absolutely abandoned the run. You have Jamaal Charles and you only give him the ball 9 times? WTF? I think his average per carry was somewhere around 8/9/10. (Off memory) Why did they stiop giving him the rock? The score was 10-7 at the half so it's not like they were down by 20 and needed to make points up in a hurry.

You probably think I'm crazy, but I'd rather have Cassel than Carson Palmer. Palmer chokes under pressure more than Brett Favre ever dreamed.

You may be right, but I think he deserves another year or two to figure it out.

I think Charlie Weis leaving will be a big blow to that offense. But from what I've heard, Weis and Haley didn't see eye-to-eye.

So says ESPN. Have they lost their fucking minds. Shit i'm not about to give up

a first round pick for him. They must be on crack to ask for 2. Maybe a number

2 pick and i'm being overly nice when i say that. Kolb hasn't proven enough to

warrant a number 1 pick more or less 2 number 1 picks.

Who the fuck they think Kolb is? Peyton Manning no no no!

Yeah i guess the Chiefs will see what he brings next year to see if he is the guy. I disagree

with you on Carson Palmer. Yeah Palmer has been a bit of an enigma lately but you saw

what Carson is capable of 2 weeks ago when the Bengals ripped the Chargers a new one and

he didn't have certain diva recievers in his ear griping. He made my boy from Coastal Carolina

Jerome Simpson a hero for a day. Carson still has the physical tools to be a good qb but the

coaches must not rely on him totally to win the game and put the ball back in Cedric Benson's

hands and take the pressure off of Carson.

It's not the Steelers fault Kemo Von Oelhoffen slipped on the turf into Carson's leg.

Kolb is making something ridiculously small next season, like $1.4 million, so I doubt they'll let him go for anything less than what they're asking. With the way Vick plays they need him there.

Asomugha had been great for the Raiders (as much as it pains me to say that), but I don't think he's worth more than Revis. Not by a long shot, actually. And didn't Revis have to hold out and fight to get that money, anyway?

Yep, it was over the guaranteed money. Jets tried to lowball him, but Revis did the smart thing. NFL contracts aren't worth the paper they're printed on unless the player gets SERIOUS guaranteed loot. Like I posted earlier, $100mil(with $10mil guaranteed) is a joke. If the player gets a serious injury, guess what happens?

If someone offered a 2nd round (Cleveland)...they would take it....but Kolb makes no money next year and it makes sense for the Eagles to keep him....
But if some team gets stupid or desperate and give a first rounder?...that could happen

Even as good a season that Michael Vick had this year, I don't think the Eagles want ot get rid of Kevin Kolb, because he offers insurance just in case Michael Vick gets hurt next year. Plus he is still young enough that he has a lot of potential growth in the QB position. The Eagles know that he is going to be a hot property in the offseason barring a work stoppage, so they are going to demand huge concessions before they attempt to unload him.

Another proud moment for Philadelphia sports fans;

Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on January 11, 2011, 6:24 PM EST

Philadelphia sports fans always claim they get a bad rap. Sure, they can be boorish. But so are fans in New York and Boston!

Eagles fans got so upset Sunday about their unfair stereotype that they had to take it out on something, like the car of a Packers fan.

A Wisconsin native that now works in Pennsylvania as a college professor attended the Eagles-Packers game with his father. His Toyota Camry was “stomped on, kicked and beaten.” Mirrors were broken, wipers torn out, and dents made on the hood, trunk, and roof.

“When I left Green Bay everyone said to be careful — the Philadelphia fans have a reputation,” Peter Coenen (the father) told the Morning Call of Lehigh Valley. “My son had a Green Bay Packers shirt on. As we drove in, they gave us the finger.”

Oh, we didn’t realize the guy had a Packers shirt on. Dude was asking for it

Figured John Fox would get a job pretty fast.

Surprised Shurmur is leaving so soon. It's a big deal for Sam Bradford, really. He needed to stay in the same system for a few years. I guess we'll really get to see how good he is next season.

Not surprising. He wasn't about to go back to Auburn after all the shit

he went through this season and after winning an NCAA championship.

I still think he needs work which may take awhile but once he refines his mechanics look out.

No Jamarcus Russell here.

Niners, baby, Niners! It's possible and unless he can get picked up by a winning team (which is doubtful) it would be a great situation for him. Great weather, strong new coach (with a college background) that he can grow with, a fan base that would welcome and worship him. If I prayed I'd be doin' it around draft time. lol I've also heard Cardinals, though. hmph!
