Palmer has done NOTHING since his knee injury.

Exactly what are the Bengals holding on 2?

Dude, even Peyton Manning or Tom Brady couldn't thrive in that situation. I truly believe Carson Palmer could be a top ten QB in a better environment. There's a reason the Bungles have had, what, two winning seasons the past twenty years? Boomer Esiason talks about this a lot on his radio show. He should know. That franchise stinks from the top down. The Steelers are the exact opposite.

A friend of mine thinks Palmer will fit in well with the Titans. That, of course, depends on the new coaches.

Did I tell y'all that Jeff Fisher is getting the hell on? dancing jig If so, it's worth repeating. dancing jig

You know Vince Young is somewhere like hah!

Anyone who blames Cutler 4 this loss was NOT watching the game.

I'm not blaming Cutler for losing the game. I'm just wondering why he wasn't on the field when he could walk along the sideline. According to Lovie, he said that it was the doctors' and trainers' decision to pull him from the game. If this were a regular season game in October I could see why, but this is a conference championship game to get your team to the Super Bowl. If Terrell Owens can play in the Super Bowl and be productive against the advice of his doctors, and if Phillip Rivers can play a whole game at quarterback in the AFC Championship game against the Patriots with a torn ACL, then Jay Cutler was healthy enough to go back in the game. He's going to be reamed for being too soft, whether it's warranted or not.

Having said that, Lovie was outcoached. He should have put Caleb Hanie in the game instead of Todd Collins and given the Bears at least a decent shot of tying the game. I'm not surprised that Caleb Hanie threw those interceptions considering he had virtually no playing time this season.

typing

lol If those are your only options, chances are you won't be winning that day anyway. Hell, Cutler himself is the second coming of Jeff George.

And neither do I, not right now at least. Right now there's a good chance the next Titans coach will be in-house. sigh I hope he doesn't try to maintain the same Fisher bullshit that has us stuck at mediocrity.

I doubt Palmer would even want to come to TN. Hell, right now I doubt any QB wants to come here. At last week's press conference they said they want to acquire a veteran QB AND a young QB (draft maybe) to develop. lol So much Dusty, or Crusty, or whatever the fuck that dude's name is that's on the roster right now.

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Green Bay Packers

I suppose now would be the time to make predictions on the outcome of this Super Bowl, but whatever your choice, you may want to enjoy this game and savor each moment, because it may be the last NFL game you'll see in a while.

Raiders hire Hall of Famer Rod Woodson as Assistant;

http://www.sacbee.com/2011/02/14/3402108/raiders-hire-hall-of-famer-rod.html#ixzz1E2GbWOQO

ALAMEDA, Calif. -- The Oakland Raiders added a Hall of Famer to their coaching staff, hiring Rod Woodson on Monday as an assistant to coach the team's cornerbacks.

Woodson was one of the most accomplished defensive backs ever to play the game and was named to the NFL's 75th Anniversary Team. He played the final two of his 17 seasons with the Raiders, helping the team win the 2002 AFC championship.

"It's an honor to be back with the Raiders and be able to talk to Raider players about true football," Woodson said. "I'm looking forward to working with the organization and the challenges of the 2011 season."

Woodson had recently served as a television analyst at the NFL Network and Big Ten Network but decided to get into coaching.

Woodson spent the bulk of his playing career with Pittsburgh, starring for 10 seasons on the Steelers. He was named AP Defensive Player of the Year for Pittsburgh in 1993 and helped the Steelers reach the Super Bowl following the 1995 season.

He also spent one season with the San Francisco 49ers and four with Baltimore, winning the Super Bowl with the Ravens following the 2000 season.

Woodson was named to 11 Pro Bowls, the 1990s all-decade team and was named a first-team All-Pro six times as either a cornerback, safety or kick returner.

"I'm excited that we have a Hall of Fame player who is coming back to the organization," coach Hue Jackson said. "I was extremely impressed during the interview process with his communication skills and I'm looking forward to Rod imparting his wealth of knowledge to our players."

Woodson's 71 career interceptions rank third all-time in NFL history. He is the career leader in interception returns for touchdowns (12), and interception return yardage (1,483).

Woodson will work in the secondary with Kevin Ross, who is coaching the safeties. The Raiders still have not announced who their defensive coordinator will be next season. Chuck Bresnahan, who was defensive coordinator when Woodson played in Oakland, is on staff as a defensive assistant and is a likely candidate.

Report: Carson Palmer says he'll retire

Carson Palmer is apparently determined to leave Cincinnati.

Palmer, who has demanded the Bengals trade him, told a confidant he "will never set foot in Paul Brown Stadium again," WCPO-TV in Cincinnati reported Tuesday.

Bengals owner Mike Brown said in January that he will not trade Palmer because the quarterback is crucial to the team's plans.

Several sources told ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen in January that Palmer will contemplate retirement if the Bengals do not trade him.

According to Tuesday's report, Palmer said "I have $80 million in the bank. I don't have to play football for money. I'll play it for the love of the game but that would have to be elsewhere. I'm prepared to live my life."

Palmer hasn't talked to the media since making his trade request. A text message seeking comment wasn't returned. Agent David Dunn released a statement saying that "because of the lack of success that Carson and the Bengals have experienced together, Carson strongly feels that a separation between him and the Bengals would be in the best interest of both parties."

Palmer was the franchise's building block when it made him the first overall pick in 2003, Marvin Lewis' first season as coach. He led the Bengals to the playoffs in 2005 and 2009 -- their only winning records in the past 20 years -- and rebounded from severe knee and elbow injuries along the way.

Shitty organization, clueless coach, and a locker room full of knuckleheads. I don't blame Carson one bit.

It gets worse for Jamarcus Russell. A fool and his money....

FOX SPORTS

Things keep getting worse for former NFL quarterback JaMarcus Russell, who is considered the biggest bust in NFL draft history.

According to documents obtained by TMZ.com, foreclosure proceedings have begun on Russell’s mansion because he allegedly failed to make $195,512.05 in mortgage payments. Russell bought the house for $2.4 million in 2007 after the Raiders made him the No. 1 overall pick in that year’s draft.

The Louisiana State University product has three months to make the payments or the mansion will be auctioned off, the TMZ report says.

According to TMZ, Russell’s agent said he had not spoken with the former QB about the situation.

Russell, 25, played 31 games over three seasons with the Raiders, completing 52.1 percent of his passes and compiling a 65.2 passer rating. He threw 18 touchdown passes and 23 interceptions, and the Raiders went 7-18 with him under center.
