Hershel Walker's thinking of making a comeback. That fool needs to sit his ass down. What NFL team will offer him a contract?

That body is right tho! tonk

Herschel Walker's genesis into a Renaissance jock (Olympic bobsledder, Heisman winner) sprang from chubby beginnings.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal pointed out that Walker claims he can still run with the best athletes in the world.

Walker said he was clocked at a mind-boggling 4.38 in the 40-yard dash after his MMA debut last year and that his time right now would certainly be sub-4.5.

1 hit from a legit line backer and that old mofo will retire AGAIN.

Dude's pushing 50, and he thinks he can take a hit from cats like James Harrison, Clay Matthews or even Ray Lewis?

The speed of these NFL defenders is no joke, even big mfers like Vince Wolfork and BJ Raji. Brett Favre needs to have a sitdown with this cat.

Hey y'all have 6 Super Bowls. You don't need 7, y'all are cocky enough as is, considering Green Bay was winning NFL Championships back when the Steelers were still swimming in the NFL's nuts. wink

So were the Cleveland Browns but who gives a shit about them winning championships

when leather hats were the rave and qb's threw the ball to themselves. lol

Exactly, nobody cares about teams beating the Muncie Flyers or the Pottsville Maroons (yes these were real teams in the NFL) to win the NFL Championship. For the past 45 years it's all been about winning the Superbowl!!!!!!!!!!

He was on the sports talk show here today and said as much..he's not interested in playing again...just stating that he was still in great shape....
He said he's enjoying time with his son but would love a job in the front office (good luck with that)...
I think this is more to hype his upcoming match

No doubt. nod People talked about William Perry back in the 80's because he was sooooo huge compared to other players around him. But these days he would not only just be another big body; he probably would be considered too slow and awkward to play in the NFL. There are a large number of players in the NFL who are 350 lbs, many of which have only 10 percent bodyfat and can run 40 yards in 4.5 seconds. One of the reasons som nay peole are getting head injuries and concussions is because they are getting slammed at full speed by people who would have been considered monstrously huge just 20 years ago. slam

Actually, a few older folks, some purists, and historians care about those past championships, but they are almost considered to be of an entirely different era. As far as the early years of the NFL, even the vaunted Monsters of the Midway who won titles in the 1940's and inspired the fight song "Bear Down Chicago Bears" tend to be overlooked by the teams post-WWII and up until the first Super Bowl. As the Super Bowl has grown in importance and stature, the more attention has been paid to those Super Bowl champions. So even though both the Cleveland Browns and Detroit Lions have won NFL titles, they are both considered sad sack franchises because they have never made it to the Super Bowl.

And as far as the Steelers are concerned, up until 1969, when they won the first round draft pick to get Terry Bradshaw, they were one of the worst franchises in sports history. They were as bad as the old Washington Senators, the current Pittsburgh Pirates, and the LA Clippers combined. But it was that fateful draft pick which radically altered their history and turned them into a perennial powerhouse.

Steelers and Patriots are the best-run organizations in the NFL. You can understand why Carson Palmer wants to get out of that hellhole in Cincy and go to a franchise that knows what it's doing.

Well yeah I guess people in their 80's and 90's would. As for the Browns and Detroit well they had 45 shots at the Superbowl.

Yeah, or maybe Arizona.

I mean, I know we're talking franchises that know what they're doing and all...but sometimes they have it together.

Actually Mean Joe Greene was Chuck Noll's first draft pick in 69.

Terry Bradshaw was drafted the next season in 1970. Mean Joe
Greene was the cornerstone pick of the Steel Curtain and the

franchise.

I think a change of scenery could do Palmer good. The dude still has the physical

tools to play the game at a high level. He had a good game near the end of the

season knocking the Chargers out of the post season and he did it without the

Bengals top two receivers. It was a breakout game for my boy Jerome Simpson

from Coastal Carolina. Palmer needs to get out of Cincinnati. Cincinnati has been

a trap for good players over the years. I would still take Palmer over half the qbs

in the NFC.

Dude, even Peyton Manning or Tom Brady couldn't thrive in that situation. I truly believe Carson Palmer could be a top ten QB in a better environment. There's a reason the Bungles have had, what, two winning seasons the past twenty years? Boomer Esiason talks about this a lot on his radio show. He should know. That franchise stinks from the top down. The Steelers are the exact opposite.
