Good one, lol

Hey, like Princey says, it's the magic number. We'll chill for awhile after we get #7.

Steelers don't do cocky...the Jets, on the other hand...

That's true about the Packers though...I remember them days.

I'm a Patriots fan. Ryan slamming his headset down was the highlight of my season.

How often do these people come through on guarantees? Seriously, every time an NFL player guarantees a win, I swear his team gets stomped. This fool guaranteed the Lombardi Trophy...based off what?

Toetally.

Yeah Sanchez is alright. Can't blame him too much for that loss. If anything the fact they couldn't get any running game going for 3 quarters or so was probably mostly to blame.

Edit: I take that back. He and the coaches needed to get the team moving a little faster on that drive before the safety. There was little urgency there it seemed.

Like Mike Francesca said on his show, all this criticism of Cutler's heart is ridiculous. The team doctors said he couldn't play, so that's it. Dude's been taking a beating all season.

Funny you should post that photo. According to ESPN, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer has requested to be traded. Should the Bengals refuse or find no takers, then he says he will retire.

How about a three way trade between the Bears, Titans, and Bengals? The Bears can send Jay Cutler to Cincy, who can then send Carson Palmer to the Titans, and the Bears can get Vince Young. biggrin So what if Vince Young is supposedly immature? He won't quit on the Bears like Cutler did.

typing

I don't blame Carson. The Bengals are a joke of an organization with a bad locker room and a spineless coach. And I'm sure he wants to get out of Pittsburgh's division. They were the ones who hurt his career.

Typical nonsense from Chicago fan:

I don't care if Cuddles has a torn whatever. When he was yanked, all he did was sit and pout. Did he encourage his teammates? Did he work with the backup QBs? Not that I saw. Not a leader by any stretch, that boy.

Here's a question for the flood of critics who suggest Jay Cutler quit on the Bears yesterday: Were you watching when he took nine sacks from the New York Giants back in early October?

How about two weeks later, when he was hammered to the ground six times by the Seahawks?

He never flinched and he never complained about an offensive line that let him get taken down 57 times this season.

Cutler is a Type 1 diabetic, yet still playing in the NFL, and yet his toughness gets questioned?

For whatever reason, the Chicago media does not like Cutler, and the fans are feeding off that.

Same here. I used to hate Green Bay, having lived there, but Favre's departure sort of cured me of that. And since most my family lives there, I'd prefer Green Bay to win (even if I still hated them), for their sake.

Okay, now that I know he had a torn MCL, I'll apologize...partially. Only becuase he actually was hurt. Having said that, if he were a true leader of his team, he would have insisted on getting back into the game instead of offering a meek excuse of "the doctors and trainers pulled me out."

This still seems fishy fish hmmm because the ultimate decision for getting Jay Cutler back into the game goes to Lovie Smith. If the coach insisted that Cutler could no longer play in the game, he should have stated so emphatically that it was his decision to pull him from the game because he was injured and not allow any further speculation about his injury or whether he was being benched for being ineffective. But then again, Lovie Smith put Todd Collins into the game, so that just goes to show how outcoached he was.

The 'North Dallas Forty' days are over in the NFL. From what I understand, coaches(and players) can't override team doctors. Remember when Jason Witten wanted back in a game after suffering a concussion and the docs said no way.

Unless it's a 1st degree sprain,a 2nd or 3rd degree sprain wouldve put Cutler in street clothes after half...

He plays one series after the half and decides he can't do it...ok, either take your ass back in the locker room or help your 2nd and 3rd string with the plays..they had no reps all week..

That shot of the 3rd string guy looking at film and Cutler just sitting there says it all...you can't make excuses for this guy when he has a history of his unprofessionalism...

Him being a type 1 has nothing to do with his MCL...
This has FAIL written all over it..on the doctors, the coach,or the player...take your pick

Cutler's NFL contemporaries go after him on Twitter

We're used to fans questioning the toughness of NFL players, especially in a game that has a Super Bowl berth on the line. If the quarterback of your hometown team can't go for whatever reason (especially if it isn't really obvious that he's hurt), there's going to be some negative talk (and possibly some guerilla theater after the game).

What you don't usually see, as you did while Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler(notes) spent over half of the NFC championship game on the sideline with a knee injury, was the sort of invective we saw from Cutler's NFL contemporaries, and some notable ex-players. We've got a roll of tweets after the jump in which Cutler is questioned outright for his toughness and resolve with his absence in the game that the Green Bay Packers won, 21-14. A very interesting turn of events, considering the fact that these were all in-game before anyone had any idea what Cutler's injury actually was. Frankly, we've never seen anything like it.

The Bears said all the right things about Cutler's injury in the postgame news conferences, but public perception is going in a very different direction. And in Cutler's case, it starts with the guys who take the field and have a different level of understanding when it comes to putting it all out on the field. And we probably shouldn't invite Cutler and Maurice Jones-Drew(notes) to the same offseason barbecue...

It's a tough call. I have seen guys with torn knee ligaments walk off the field as if nothing was wrong. Will all these players (current and former) come back around and apologize if it turns out that Cutler has a serious injury?
