I dunno if I can get behind this one.

If I'm invited to someone's house, it's 'cause they're a friend, right? And do I need to bring them something material? Isn't my acceptance of their invitation, my demeanor and a verbal expression of my appreciation enough?

Unless it's, like, a housewarming or something, where a gift is expected.

Let's dialogue on this!

It is the arab way but some people don't do it, nothing expensive just a box of chocolates or something. I love it!

My mom does that sort of thing and I used to.

P.S. I hate going to people's houses. lol Oh, sure, if certain close friends lived close by, that would be another thing. But they don't. sad

you might befriend someone who at some point falters in their judgement, on request you give him your opinion and opsla he feels betrayed. Not wanting to have your honesty compromised you stick to your guns, and there's y'friend writhing in his mess, blinded n' dulled by sentiment.

Oh, okay - I see what you mean. I would suggest, though, that a good friendship can withstand disagreement over advice that's been sensitively delivered.

What's "opsla"? confuse

Opsla: German baby-talk. in English: Oops.smile

small circles, big wheels!
I've got a pretty firm grip on the obvious!

Oh, I see 'em. But it tends to be a meet-up-for-a-meal kinda thing, more often than not.
