Wow, has she lost her sight completely and do you know if she will get it back?

I took her to the ER today, they performed a CT and found out she had a stroke, and has a tumor on the front part of her brain. They will be doing an MRI in the morning, to see if it's metastatic or primary. I'm really having a time dealing with this, but I know their is strength in numbers, so I welcome your thoughts and prayers .

I didn't want to respond to your post because I lost my Mom in August 2009 and its still hard for me; but then I thought about how you must be feeling...I've been there. If your Mom is anything like my Mom was, there's no describing how valuable she is. If I may provide you with a few thoughts to consider.

1. God has a time for everyone and most older people know when it is their time, and you know what, they're not so mad about it, so allow her to move with in her natural progression.

2. Make sure you hug her, hold her, kiss her, brush her hair, rub her with lotion, paint her nails as much as she likes. (Sometimes she wont want you to toucher her, that's ok, its not you.)

3. Treat her with dignity and let her continue to be the "Mom" until.

Me three. Just thinking of losing my mom, and not having her in my life, makes me extremely sad.

hey starmon,

i've had quite a few close family members receive care from hospice, they provide some of the best care in some of the hardest times. be strong, brother.
