People seem to have very mixed feelings about her appearance (more so than any other celeb I can think of.)

I don't think Madonna is ugly at all, however I do think her looks are very average until she has her makeup and hair done. Everyone looks better with professional makeup and hair. What I find so unattractive about her is her body. It's not very good and her arms are disgusting. She's in terrific shape, but I don't think she has a sexy body.

She has my favorite face EVER. I just love her features. I get made fun of but I don't care I have a thing for Italians anyway, but to me she just has a very interesting face and she knows how to work a camera. There are tons of prettier woman though...

I remember saying (in the late-'80s, to a friend who thought she was gorgeous), 'If she wasn't a celebrity and didn't have such a sense of style, you wouldn't look twice at her if she passed you on the street.' In other words, I thought her looks were in the average range.

Of course, put them together with her sense of style, her confidence and her body and she is a very attractive woman. Not '92-'98-Madonna' attractive, but attractive (especially for her age).

It's fine. Not all attractive people have button-noses (I was going to say, "But you know that", but - judging by your threads where you've indicated you feel your nose is unattractive - apparently you don't. The irony, of course, is that your nose is nowhere near unattractive).

I don't think there's any such thing; context is everything. Look at Adrien Brody. he has a (relatively) big nose, but many, many people find him very attractive.

well, i was going to say she usually looks to me like a women of self confidence and authority, which are traits i generally admire, but that picture up there reflects such a dimwitted aspect it really makes me wonder what she's strung out on.

and as i react to my own reaction i realize that even though madonna began her career by working her sex, she's long since moved on from there and deserves to be taken seriously for her reasons other than her tits and ass, reasons other than whether or not she measures up to that's hot! so in a way the joke's on me.

then again, maybe she is truly a pitiable figure, as the long road to fame has kicked the crap out of her youthful good looks and appears to have drained her.

i really don't know how i'm leaning on this one so i'll go with the neutral, "she looks good for her age"
