Pres. Obama? lol I don't see that at all. If Mr. Williams looks like anybody it's a combination of Jim Varney and Arnold Schwarzenegger, in my opinion, lol.

And yes, his voice is indeed GOLDEN. clapping He was just on Jimmy Fallon's show, and beyond the way he sounds when he speaks, I also like how knowledgable he is with vocabulary. smile

I am soooo glad this didn't turn out to be a thread about one of those tired ass amateur singers that everyone raves about these days because we've got too many of them already.

Me too. I saw similar thread titles on other MB's and was like bored Until I saw a news brief on TV.

Best of luck to this guy and all the homeless people around the world.

A viral video vaulted Ted Williams and his golden voice to fame, but the real hero of this story is the woman he left behind.

Patricia Kirtley raised four daughters alone after Williams split 23 years ago and dove down the rabbit hole of drugs.

Not only that, Kirtley took in the baby boy the radioman had with another woman and raised him as her own.

Oh, and by the way, she's partially blind.

This story was always going to get messy.

She looked like she had a lot of pride "I'm not no 92. I'm 90" and just wanted to come across like he came from a 'good' family. He's been out of her life for decades and then you get camera crews on your front door you can't expect the most generous response.

Wendy Williams on her show went IN on ol' boy today.

She rode him good saying she gives him about a year before he messes stuff up, mainly with drugs. She said he's only been clean for 2 years (outta the past 20), and that was probably because he couldn't afford any. She said that after he gets the first few checks is when they'll really see, and that just because he now has a job that that doesn't mean all of a sudden he has become "responsible". She's a former addict, I guess, so she said she could speak from experience.

She also mentioned how he has 7-8 kids and left the partially blind wife for drugs, and now the first thing he needs to do with all of this newfound "wealth" is to take care of those kids.

After reading a little more of his story, I'm inclined to agree. I don't know if I'm going to be as pessimistic as Wendy about him fuckin' all of this up in about a year, but I really do hope he's a real man and takes care of what he's supposed to.

I don't predict good things for him long term, but that is not because I want him to fail. I just think he's being treated like a normal person with sudden celebrity, and what he really needs is serious counselling.

Ted was detained by LA police today because his daughter and him were yelling at each other in his hotel room. They didn't file charges against each other though. (It happened 12 am this morning and it's breaking news as of today.) Check Google for details...

The columnist it right. The ex-wife is real hero of the story.

Ted's headed back to rehab.
