Help me choose a small vacation destination for the Spring... My BF and I are planning on taking a small vacation in the Spring (before Memorial Day weekend). We want to go somewhere along the east coast in which we will drive (we are in VA) to the destination. I was thinking of Charlotte, but I don't know if that will be exciting or not. I would say Myrtle Beach but it's a bit redundant. So is Ocean City, Maryland. So now I'm running out of ideas and he's left it up to me to decide where to go. We do want the trip to be affordable as well. Can you guys give me some ideas that I'm overlooking???? Your help is appreciated. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince. |

You're already in VA so that eliminates everything I know about the East Coast
I'd go to Kings Dominion (Isn't that the big amusement park on the way from Virginia Beach to Wash. DC? Not Busch Gardens but east of there?), but since you live in VA you may go there a lot already.
I'm firmly planted in denial |

Yeah Kings Dominion is only 30 minutes from where I live and we are sick of it Thanks for the attempt though. I appreciate it. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince. |

The Outer Banks NC
Huge pass on Myrtle beach !
I would suggest Raleigh/Duram over the Queens city
Wilmington
What are you looking for in your vacation ?
I have stayed in almost every coastal area down NC / SC and Ga ...

depends on how far you wanna drive
if you wanna stay close
the Outter Banks that Mach mentioned are beautiful
if you're willing to go further south
coastal Georgia and South Carolina
are also very nice and have tons to offer
How is it you feel? |

I was going to suggest Savannah or coastal Georgia including the islands. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

Hmm that sounds like fun!!! I can taste the fresh seafood in my mouth as we speak!!! I'm basically looking for something relaxing in our vacation. A nice road trip..maybe 4 or 5 hours if that...waterfront, some shopping areas, some areas to just walk down a beach or a boardwalk of some sort. Nice restaurants as well. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince. |

The OBX are very relaxing ~ with small areas of "city" ~ LOTS of water and sands ... GREAT local seafoods and wonderful history
