Youtube to MP3 converters - do you use them?

I would like to download one, but I am not sure if they are safe. It keeps telling me it could somehow damage the computer so I would like to hear your opinion. What is the best programme for this?

i don't have an answer for you, but I will warn you that the warning should be taken seriously. I had downloaded a torrent conversion program, and received a trojan horse virus that shut my computer down. it wasn't worth it, in retrospect.

I've used the same one for years. It's simply called "Free Youtube Downloader". You can find it plus other programs that do the same thing on download.com. There are also reviews by other users so you'll know if you're getting a legit program or not. Plus if there's a cost and the level of difficulty to use it. I get almost all the programs I download on my computers from that site.

It worked for me until this year, I had to delete it.

Now I use this:

I don't, never have. But my nephew was just telling me about this site the other day. Since I just bought him a new laptop he wanted to know if this was something he should be doing (I guess he didn't care what happened to his parents PC and laptop lol ). I checked it out and it looks really solid.

Also, as a software downloading geek I fully endorse the use or download.com for searching and reviewing software. It's a great tool. nod

That sucks. I haven't any problems yet. What happened? Did it just stop converting or was it dragging down your system or what?

Just stopped converting. I'm kinda glad though... every time I did convert something into an MP3 in the past, it left the audio sounding all hissy (maybe because I would convert it into high format) and when I uploaded videos, you could hear that static. Few made complaints about it but I was so quick to wanting to post videos and shit I just said fuck it.

I've been using Atube Catcher...it's free and simple.

The quality of youtube stuff is usually pretty bad, so i only download stuff i really can't find any where else.

I´ve just got to this and finally downloaded some songs. This is the best option cause I don´t have to install anything. Thanks a lot.

I ain't got the time to figure all that shit out. I just plug my laptop into my stereo and record the audio from the youtube videos directly onto CDs using a CD recorder which is a component on the stereo just like a cassette recorder would be. lol

See...y'all become lazy with all these computer programs these days. For all we know, that hiss might be intentional during the conversion so you won't have a high quality copy of the song. I'm from the old school honey. Record that shit onto CD just like you were recording a cassette tape. Yeah, you've got to sit there and listen as the song records but you have an excellent copy. You can't go wrong recording no matter what kind of new technology they come up with to make downloads sound inferior. lol
