There are no words...

When I see someone in the street in PJs, I assume there has been no interaction with water between the bed and the door. ill

When I see someone out galavanting in public in PJ bottoms I feel compelled to ask where their bed is parked.

Sorry if I'm offending anyone (OK I'm probably just saying that) but not bothering to put on real pants is just fuckin lazy. neutral

I know a lot of people think they look "cute" and "free-sprit", "quirky", "this makes me an individual" and all badass anti-fashion...

It's none of the above. It just looks like you don't care enough about your appearance to even bother and get dressed in the morning.

See, I think I'm more bothered by a) a parent not taking the time to know what their kid is wearing and making sure it's right, b) that they know and just don't care, c) that for whatever reason, maybe that kid has nothing else to wear. If an adult looks stupid it's because they know better and chose to look like that anyway. Kids don't always have that choice. *clunk*clunk* Steps off soap box.

Kids have more choice than we care to give credit for. TOO MUCH choice IMO.

And then there's the kids that will go out the door in one thing then change at a friends or somewhere before school. Most kids running around in jammie bottoms are not doing so because they lack clean clothes or don't have enough.

Among young folk ( I sound like an ancient queen grandpa) it's usually an "I don't care and that makes me cool" kind of thing.

OK, but would you let your child wear those things? My sisters kids are inspected before they leave for school (inculding their backpacks) and when they come home. Plus, they don't leave early enough to be stopping anyplace along the way. I totally agree with what you're saying, but if I had kids (shivers) they would NOT be wearing pajama pants to school. Hells no! hmph!

My friend sent me this a few years ago. It was a quote from the Seattle weekly The Stranger and it was part of “back to school” guidelines. It’s still one of my favorite quotes. lol

Guess what? People don’t wear clothing to be comfortable. People wear clothing to be attractive. If comfort was our only goal as a species, we’d all be wandering around in velour sacks, idly masturbating and eating fistfuls of pudding.

So don’t wear your pajamas around campus. Sweatpants suggest that you have a load in your drawers. Crocs are for special-ed students who can’t lace their goddamned shoes.

And if your clothes have holes in them, either learn to sew or throw them away. It’s a basic sign of respect for the species that you not dress like a sexless hobo.

Although pajama's not my style (Don't own any-Don't want any) generally agree with both of your statements, however, some free spirits can work the look. And you both sound they same way old people used to talk about kids wearing jeans. (There was a time and place for jeans at one point too.)

Cell phones. It is the death of conversation, of thinking. People no longer read books or think deeply, they text. This is how the Illuminati wins.

nod

cell phones have made people more fickle and flakey than ever. Gone are the days when you could safely arrange a time and place to meet, 3 weeks in advance and both (or more) parties would mark it in their diaries and then turn up.

Now, people are assumed to not be coming unless they have been texted up to 5 minutes before to reconfirm and answered that they are coming for sure. Even if 3 weeks ago they said "yes I'll be there!"

And it seems perfectly OK to be coming, then text "something came up" and everyone seems OK with that confused
