first aid says a cold pack can relieve local pain...seek medical advice if pain persists.

I was always scared when one was there and my bf was not around redface. He told me to just kill them if they show up inside the house, but I would be too scared to do that.

We are sure not little girls!

This one here is living right next to my bf's shop, but doesn't bother us:

I was also not too comfortable when this one showed up in our house:

He would come here, but I have been told it would be very difficult to get a visa for him let alone one for a longer time sigh.

I am used to all the animals and insects there. I once posted photos of some of them on the org lol. We even have an ocelot living close to our house falloff. The only thing that probably would be really life threatening was if I got bitten by one of the dangerous snakes there. Hopefully that won't happen.

Harlepolis

This one(camel spider) is extremely popular in the desert region in the borders of the country I'm staying in.

[img:$uid]http://www.goldschmidts.org/ari_iraq_photos/2007_June_Camel_Spider3_small.jpg[/img:$uid]

People here(esp farmers) have a warning that everytime you see one of them, 9 times out of 10 you'll likely to see a yellow scorpion around, and these nasty SOBS are the one of the most dangerous ones in the scorpions family.

There's also an urban legend that camel spiders love to eat from the stomach flesh and eardrums,,,,,EARDRUMS, people!!!!

I love spiders and have ZERO arachnophobia. Never have. I think it stems from my mother being psychotically afraid of them, so I always had to do the deed when I was a child and they were found in the house. Anyway, they just don't scare me at all. Even holding them, so long as they're not deadly (I'm not hunting black widows or anything, which are pretty easy to find in my back and side yards). But that camel spider, funk that! lol For whatever reason that thing gives me the heeby jeebies.
