Wii is so lame!

The kids are loving this new console and it's been a total homerun for me, er, Santa. Mission Accomplished!

But damn I don't get the Wii hype among anyone over the age of 15. The graphics suuuuuck and the games are so babyish. I see very clearly now that last year's PS3 purchase was the way to go. wink

Any thoughts on your dusty Wii games?

how old is your tv, what size?

my bro's kids have it and quite a few games... Looks excellent -- they have a big, new flat screen in the kids' play loft..

the more modern the tv, the better the games'll play

also, seems like most Wii games are more child/family centered

all kids in my fam are 12 and under.. they all have Wii shrug lol

42" samsung plasma, 720p

to be fair, I don't know if the wii has a HD hookup or not, I just plugged in the RCA jacks and that seemed to be what it had.

like I said, the kids love it. And Santa only paid 100 sugar cookies for this used setup so what's he complaining about anyway?

we got DDR for Wii this year and it's great!!

You have to be VERY selective with the games you buy... I'm talking hella research and whatnot!! Otherwise you might as well just burn your fifty dollar bills...

Go to GAMESPOT for all your Wii games needs and I also frequent KOTAKU . Both good places for research!

BTW...

excited Super Mario Galaxy 2 is PHREAKIN' PHENOMENAL!!! excited

The Wii never claimed to be graphically exceptional, in fact they came out saying it was barely above the Gamecube in graphics capabilities.

I think they have some great games that don't rely on superb graphics for their enjoyability, such as MarioKart and Mario Party. Also, the virtual arcade is a great way to introduce older good games to a younger audience.

The reason the Wii won this round of the console wars is precisely because Nintendo put fun and gameplay ahead of graphics. Now Microsoft and Sony have eaten their words and jumped on the motion-gaming bandwagon.

I just bought my 40-year-old sister Wii for Christmas.

Then my parents gave her the Wii Fit Plus.

She and her 40-year-old fiance hooked it all up to her 60" television and had a ball this afternoon.... shrug

Pretty much... I bought mine for my kid and she gets great enjoyment out of it. But I've really been surprised at how many times I've had folks over and they fire up the Wii for a game of bowling or tennis. I certainly don't spend as much time on it as I do my PS3 (which isn't much in either case, unforunately) but the success of the Kinect and Move are proof positive that Nintendo was on to something with the Wii.

actually, you know what I've found, since it doesn't have HDMI, putting it on a HD tv is useless. We had it on our 46" HD LCD TV and it just looked not quite right lol

We have an old 42" Panasonic flatscreen plasma that isn't HD, and on that TV it looks much better, using component cables.

yep, it was in v good condition and came with some games too, Mario Cart, Far Cry, Super Mario Bros Wii, GT racing whatever, and the most obnoxious game ever, Rayman Raving Rabbids 2.

I had to kick in 60 more sugar cookies for Sports Resort and the gels, but I love the Archery and the Frisbee dog game lol
