Holiday time off?

Are you taking any vacation time around the holidays? What are you looking forward to?

I'm off from December 24 through January 3 - and am really, really looking forward to not hearing anyone eat baby carrots for the entire time. neutral

I’m not taking any time off. I will get 12/24 and 12/31 off as the corporate holidays. shrug

I am looking forward to spending time with my family on Xmas eve.

The boyfriend and I are meeting each other’s families for the first time too. I’m a bit anxious/nervous about it of course, but I’m sure it will all be fine.

I took Thursday and Friday off last week to get Christmas shopping done.

This week we close at noon on Wed. and open the Monday after Christmas.

Then we get Dec 31st off.

woot!

It's been great!

That is so nice!!!!

The only rotten thing about all the time off I've got is that I do have to use vacation time for some of it.

I've been off since the 15th and don't have to be back to work 'til the 3rd! woot! I'm looking forward to more laying about, Internet surfing and watching the boob tube! woot!

Unfortunately, I've already had to venture out for two Xmas parties (work; friend), have to do one more, plus a friend's show and - possibly - a drink with a friend. sad Less dreaded: dinner with a friend in from London.

I had two vacation days I needed to use before Dec. 31, so I took off last Friday (12/17) and the Friday before that (12/10). I love 4 day weeks/3 day weekends, I wish the US work force would switch to 4 day weeks! Our office is closed this Friday through Monday, January 3. I'm looking forward to going to another Prince concert on the 29th and just not having to be at work. smile

Edit: ooh, and I'm looking forward to having time to go to MoMA and see the Counterspace, AbEx, and Line exhibitions. And maybe a show at the Jewish Museum on Houdini.

I took a week and a half off during the beginning of Dec, so I'm set....

We do have 4 straight days off for Xmas and 3 straight for New Years, so we're good.

Woop Woop woot! woot!

Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Not yet. In fact when I was talking to him about gift giving and stuff (since it's our first Xmas together I didn't want one of us to spend $500 and the other $50 as we'd both feel weird about that) he even said, "well, you're not getting an engagement ring, just so you know." lol

It's a bit early. We've only been together 8 months. We've talked about it and that's the path we're on but neither of us wants to rush it. We haven't set any kind of timeframe - it has all progressed very naturally and I'm content to let it all run it's course.

He feels added pressure as well as in the last 400 or so years of his family history that they've been able to track there has not been one recorded divorce. Marriage is and should be a big deal to everyone, but it's that much more so in his family.

I'd marry him even if there was no ring. hmph!

I want one. And I'm sure I'll get one. But if there wasn't one, I'd love him just the same.

Yes, I'm flying home from Korea to spend time with my family for a week. I arrive just before noon in time for Christmas Dinner. I have to fly back on New Years Day which is a nuisance as it's my 30th birthday. I hope I get an upgrade!

Oh, man...I feel your pain. I remember, in 1998, I moved the week between Christmas and New Year. First, after a very mild November and December, we got a huge snowstorm right around Christmas. So the movers were taking my piano out on icy sidewalks. And then, Sweetie surprised me with plane and game tickets for the Rose Bowl. omfg

There I was, the night before we left (the movers were barely gone), totally unable to find my sunglasses - which I'd packed and knew I'd need in sunny Cali. So I had to go out and buy another pair - and find enough warm weather clothing (also packed) for the trip. I was exhausted by the time I got to LA. dead

Luckily I'm not moving a piano! I'm actually throwing almost everything away and I sold my bedroom set. The only piece of furniture I'm taking with me is a cedar chest that was my grandmother's. Everything else is clothes, shoes, accessories and toiletries!
