Wow, that is really disgusting what that turd is doing... And I think that is a bunch of b.s. regarding the police not being able to do anything... The guy is breaking into a home. The police dept. there is being very lame in not doing anything about this. I live in Miami and I don't think that would ever fly down here in terms of the police dept. wimping out like that.

As unbelievable as the whole story is, the part that really got me is that she told this loser that she wants him out in 2 weeks.... What the hell. That's nuts. What's wrong with EVERYONE in this story???

Look, the law is the law. It is what it is. There are reasons for the law being what it is, and though I don't profess to know them all, I do know that you have to follow the law.

So don't harp on the police for this. They've done what they can legally.

Maybe she should have the heat and electricity turned off. That might get the guy out pronto.

Another thing she can do - and this sounds heretical, I know - but offer the guy $1,000 to leave immediately. Of course, he has to sign a document acknowledging that he has no legal right to occupy the house, etc., but in return she can agree that she won't pursue the larceny charge mentioned in the story. And, she doesn't pay until she inspects the house and makes sure he hasn't damaged it or stolen anything.

If it was me, I'd shut off all the heat, gas and power, and at the same time offer the guy some dough to get out immediately.

according to the news story, Michigan law dictates that the police can't do anything about it, and I dont think many police depts anywhere are gonna knowingly set themselves up for the liability that would come with enforcement that is out of their jurisdiction ...the guy said it could only be enforced by a baliff with a court order...that's as simple as a trip to the court house, filing whatever documents need to be filed and following the procedure from there...shitty but thats the law there...people piss & moan when cops overstep their boundaries AND piss & moan just as loudly when they don't....cops can't fucking win...between dirty cops and a public that wants to pick and choose how the police do their jobs, it's a struggle...

and as for her trying to reason with him, that's a prime example of somebody being too kind for their own good...she should find her a few "for hire" types to get the point across to that punk that his ass doesn't belong there....

How is it you feel?

I knew a guy that was trying to collect a note, and he hired a rough collector. The collector went to the guy's home, taped a bullet to the door, and wrote "Tomorrow" over it.

The guy I knew didn't approve one bit of the method, but the dude paid on time, LOL.

Fuckin scumbag. pissed

I'll never be able to wrap my mind around why or how a person thinks it's acceptable to take or use another's possessions. I can only understand squatting in someone's property if you're in a desperate situation I guess, like you have small children and are illegal and need to be out of the elements (I don't condone it, I just understand how you might end up resorting to it). We had this happen 2 houses up the street when we first moved into our last neighborhood. Periodically for about a year after that the police would come around asking if we'd seen anyone or anything unusual.

This guy is a fucking pig but he knows what he's doing. The law is rightfully in place so landlords cannot terrorize someone but yeah, common sense should come into play here.

HORRIBLE idea.... The guy is a criminal, a thief, there ILLEGALLY... That would be letting a criminal totally walk all over you.

The report already pointed out what a huge mistake the lady did by contacting him several times and inadverdently giving him permission to be there (by telling him he had 2 weeks to get out).

Paying the guy $1000 would not only be totally pathetic and unjust but it would make it look even more like there was some sort of business dealing between the two.

I don't know why that is like that. I can't see where that appears and can't delete it.

We just delt with this shit in my dads house. He passed away last summer and my 53yr old brother was living with him ( more like taking advantage of him) on and off. Then he stole his car twice last x-mas when he was in the hospital and he had him arrested and spent 6mo in jail. When he got out my dad has passed away and we were going thru the house to determine to put it up for sale. He thought he was allowed to stay there and said we would have to evict him first. Fuckin asshole.... you don't live here anymore and you don't own the house.

Well we eventually had an estate sale and had to take him to civil court and have a judge tell him he had a couple of weeks to get out or he would be taken out and loose all his stuff. He moved out on time but no one wants to talk to him again... he's been a piece a shit to my parents for last 25yrs.

How do you think the neighbors of this lady feel about this scum living in this home. She has to keep the utilites on and paid while he's there by law.

I think they should hire someone to go over and break his legs and drag him out of the house and remind him to never come back... Fuck the law, it's not working for the homeowner who pays the bills.

So your ok with being blackmailed...?..cause thats what it is. That's bullshit. This person basically walked in and and is stealing her place. She's on soc. security and has to pay for 2 sets of utility bills and the police won't do shit. This guy gets to live for free.

I bet all the neighbors feel safe there too. They should have this guy beat senseless so that he woud not want to come back. People like this think they have nothing to loose unless you break something and let them know how much pain they could be in or just walk away.

Can you tell this makes me sick?
