Panera Bread had a writing contest where you had to write about why you were passionate about baking. It had to be so many words and you could write an essay, a poem or even a recipe. They had hundreds of entries and mine was actually picked as one of the 30 winners!

I don't know what place I got yet, but the grand prize is a class at the Culinary Institute of America and $1500 for travel costs. Runners up get Panera gift cards.

I feel honored to have been chosen as a finalist since this wasn't a contest where your name was just randomly picked, but they had judges that chose based on theme and creativity.

Mine is the second to last entry on the list, "Portrait of Bread."
