ebay vs. amazon

i decided i have a problem today lol... and its all because im a junkie for ebay...

there is something about that site that i just gotta learn how to give up...

i love the adrenelin of being able to get something unique or rare for a bargin.. and i realize i love to buy off ebay ... the appeal of being able to bid on something or make an offer is so hypnotizing to me..

anyway im down with amazon too.. but i find there really is no fun in the purchase cause theres no battle to go along with it...

one thing i do like on amazon however is the awesome reviews they post for items your interested in...

so tell me have you ever used ebay or amazon?

which one do you like better?

do you love a bargin on something unique?

or do you just like to buy fast on amazon after you have reseached it?

do you get a thrill from bidding on ebay ?

I use eBay all the time, but I'm too impatient to bid on stuff, I pretty much always Buy It Now. I will only buy on eBay if it is something I simply can't get here, like bras in my size, or Totoro stuff.

it amazes me to see people keep bidding on an item that is also listed as buy it now, and overtaking that price by tens of dollars! wacky

I use to primarily buy stuff from eBay but I'd say in last 3 years Amazon has moved up, it's about even now what I purchase from both. If I can "BUY NOW" , mainly because I can't remember to go back to bid on the stuff. It's a toss up: eBay is great for discontinued items, eletronics, computer parts / software, albums and Cd's. Amazon has a better no hassle return policy than eBay, their customer services is better, and I too like the Amazon reviews.

Ebay is an addiction. For me, not having money or credit was the cure for me.

lol

There was a period where I got addicted to buying from there, couldn't stop. But anyway I got allergic to addiction as well, it drives me nuts. Thank goodness I got away from there. whew

I use both and appreciate the convenience of their services but it's starting to become a stressful obsession of mine to always check with a dozen e-commerce sites before buying something, just in case it might be cheaper somewhere else. And then when I find it for a few bucks less, the shipping time might be a bit longer or the merchant a bit less reliable so eventually I'm sitting there doing calculations with a dozen bloody variables just to buy a CD or DVD. nuts

I used to really get caught up in the bidding wars on Ebay. I even had someone email me once and this person cursed me out because I came in and out-bid them at the last minute on a CD!eek

I use both ebay and amazon on a regular basis. I'm now more concerned with where I can get the best price.

I use both faithfully. Ebay is good for stuff you might not be able to find anywhere else or unique items. I've been very lucky finding certain suits and shoes on eBay that I wouldn't be able to find elsewhere. I generally use Amazon for all my book/CD/DVD purchases because you can get relatively new items there, whereas with eBay it might have been "gently used." Well, same goes for Amazon, but I like the option of buying new cheap.

I NEVER get into bidding wars on eBay. I snipe. I find that spending an extra few dollars to be able to snipe saves me a lot of hassle, plus no one knows you've bid until the auction is over. Ninety-nine percent of the time I win what I've bid on.

I once sniped an item that had only one other bidder After I won, that bidder emailed me and basically cussed me out for "stealing" their item! People might think that was a waste of a snipe, but I figure that I can keep the price lower if I'm not bidding against someone else who can see that I'm bidding against them. If they think they're the only bidder, then they don't increase their bid. I anticipate what their highest bid might be and just add a few dollars. At the last few seconds, my bid is entered not leaving any time for another bid to be entered, and mine is almost always the winning bid.

Stories like this make me wanna last-minute bid on shit I don't even want.

I love Amazon!!! nod But the stuff I tend to buy is not really ebayish. My sister, however, was an ebay fanatic.

Anything that keeps me out of Walmart is a good thing!! nod
