Agh, such a typical Mach answer! lol
So what things are you giving them?

Some things I am just not willing to share on a site my fam may ( does ) peek into

I'm giving a lot of clothes this year. Which is odd for me.
I've just brought my daughter this -
...and my son this - | |

Oooh, I honestly didn't even think about that. I don't know anyone who reads my posts here and I naively assumed that was the situation for most folks.
This thread will fail miserably.

Perhaps the folks with littles will post ~ mine are all 19 and over and ... I'm not risking the surprize effect

She has a real cat but only plays with the fake one? Silly commercials. lol
The toys look fun though, I'm sure they'll like them.
You're brave to buy clothes. People are so picky about colours and styles and it's nearly impossible to find the exact right size.

I can't say. I fear they may read this and find out! |

All of them? No old grannies who have never seen a computer?
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
No one told me what they wanted, so......alot of shit's gwan be late
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I know! I thought that too.
I have only brought clothes for close people - my mum, stepdad and husband. I'm pretty sure that they'll be fine. I have the receipts (somewhere...) just incase.

They’re all dead!
My parents probably wouldn’t read this, I suppose. I got my mother a Thai “angel” carved out of wood. Or what could be considered an equivalent anyway. My mom collects angels. And my father gets a back scratcher, also carved from wood and from Thailand. And I will probably supplement those items with a gift card for somewhere they can go out for a nice meal.
Everyone else got stuff from Thailand too. Thai stuff, that I wouldn’t be able to get at home. And I think just about everyone will have some kind of gift or gift card supplemented as well. |

Oh ... I can share THIS because I already gave them ( early )
I got Jess and my 81 yr old Dad both new Android phones of course

That's cool. Are you still in Thailand? I think exotic and unique gifts like the ones you mentioned are among the best you can give. I remember when I got handcrafted shurikens from Japan for example. It really stands out and gets remembered.
Very cute that your mom collects angels.

Gosh. I hope you included a thorough instruction course for your dad?
I'm still in the stone age when it comes to cell phones so I can sympathize if he feels a little lost.

He is bright and smart ~ youngest Sr I know ... I aspire to be like him
Jess showed him the basics and he is teaching himself much of the rest

Just the name "Android" alone makes me shy away and feel old. lol
I like phones that are referred to as "phone".

The biggest thing, my presence. This will be the first Christmas I've been able to spend with my daughter since 2006. I'm only there for 4 days, but I'm trying to figure out how to make the most of it. Thought about seeing if there were some mountains we could drive to and go sledding/skiing/whatever.
Aside from that, a hamster, which she got early. A couple of video games. A couple of books. A radio-controlled helicopter. She asked for any sort of gift card so she got one to the movie theater, which she'll love. Might get her this beginner's magician kit. I can't remember what else I bought. It was all stuff on her list, which was fortunately vague enough to allow for surprises. [Edited 12/17/10 0:54am]

I'm back home now. I was there for 4 weeks and I've been back now for 2. I'm hoping everyone likes their things. I'm a nervous gifter. I never know if I've gotten it quite right or not. |

It sounds like you've found lots of good stuff. The diamond ring sounds awesome. I had to google Ben 10 though. Never heard of it.
Your nieces and nephew will be really happy for their gifts too. I was struggling to find something for my niece since she's only one and a half years old and has all the obvious dolls already, but eventually I came across a whole little kitchen (in plastic) with stove and fridge and shelves and pots and pans etc. She loves opening and closing doors and arranging items so hopefully she'll like it.

It sounds like you've found all the things M could possibly wish for and more. He can't possibly be disappointed with all that stuff. The things for your parents sound great too. How can you afford it all? Watches and electronics and clothes are all expensive, at least over here.
Don't you have two brothers, or am I totally misremembering things?
| |
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Aw, she must have loved the hamster! I can't think of anything that beats getting a live animal for Christmas. It's like being given a new friend. The magician kit sounds cool too. I remember being really excited by the first one I got.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
No, you're right. I actually have two other brothers...but I won't be seeing them.
As for money, without all the living expenses I used to have, my disposable income is actually the same, maybe a bit higher so I'm doing ok.
