THE OMEN VS. ROSEMARY'S BABY

Two movies, eight years apart, about a couple bringing up the devil's spawn. Which one was scarier?

In both films:

The father knows the brat is not of his loins

There is a network of evil people protecting the demon child

The doctors were in on the evil conspiracy from the very beginning

Anybody who tries to help the mother ends up dead.

I think they're both quite good, but The Omen is a little scarier, I think. Then again, any movie with Ruth Gordon is a winner, I say. Hard to choose between those two, but if the question is simply which is scarier, I'm going to go with The Omen.

Is it The Omen I or II where Damien kills his brother, Mark? That scene haunted me as a kid.

I don't know the name of the actress that plays the new nanny, following the one that hung herself, in The Omen but dayum she's a fright. First off, what kind of nanny dresses like that and decides whether the little one should go to church or not? Plus she allowed that rottweiller into the house and he didn't care for Gregory Peck not one bit. eek I also find quite frightening the scene at the archaelogical dig, Hadrian's wall, where Peck sees his son's image. boxed Very spooky.

She fuckin' killed Peck's wife. That was really scary when the mother is trying to take off her nightgown and BOOM - there's ole demon nanny bitch!

For Rosemary's Baby, it's the anticipation of doom that really gets me.

One bad event after another:

Guy's competitior mysteriously goes blind

Hutch loses his glove and is dead days later.

That young woman that was staying with Ruth Gordon jumps to her death. She had on the same bauble that Rosemary was wearing. I always wondered if she was the first vessel for the demon seed and she just killed herself to try and end the evil plot.

The cinematography in Rosemary's baby is ground breaking!

Watch that movie closely... the director made that movie to make you move in your seat, because you want to peek around corners to investigate what that is going on in the room. The director stops just short of that, making you lean your head to the right. lol

I love that movie... but the Omen was more "chilling".

The Omen makes this bitch pray right after that movie. Guard my soul Lord pray

Both movies sends out an anti-Christ message, both are dark and eerie, but 'The Omen' is more eerier.

Definitely the Omen. I saw that movie, I was pretty young. it was on regular TV at the time.....and seriously, freaked me out in ways that no therapist cannot undo. Also, I can no longer eat pea soup.

The Omen for me, bu mostly because the character of Rosemary was just not that believable. Too naive and gullible.

I think you may have The Omen mixed up with The Exorcist.

If looks could kill, Damien would be on death row.

Damien: Omen II was the shit! He killed everybody in that movie. It was a little sad because there is a moment where Damien doesn't know he is the devil's spawn and he seems to want to reject it. I think it's Lance Henricksens' creepy ass that tells him to accept his role and relish in it...then Damien gets to wipin' folks out starting with his cousin. disbelief

Rosemary's Baby is WAY better in my opinion.

While The Omen, is a good movie. RB Is a masterpiece, the way it's shot is masterful and creepy, the music, atmosphere, acting is all great.

nod and you never even see the demon baby, you just imagine it based on five lines:

"What have you done to his eyes?"

"He has his father's eyes!"

"What are you talking about, Guy's eyes are normal!"

"Satan is his father, not Guy!"

"Look at his feet!"

I love them both. Rosemary's Baby was so much more a film than a movie, it had that Noir feel to it, but it's directed by Polanski isn't it?

The Omen got me with this :

When the Jews return to Zion
And a comet rips the sky
And the Holy Roman Empire rises,
Then you and I must die.
From the eternal sea he rises,
Creating armies on either shore,
Turning man against his brother
'Til man exists no more.

I pondered that shit as a kid for real..

Let this be a lesson to you all. Do not drink and org at the same time. lol Still...the Omen scared the crap outta me. The exorcist, a completely differently flick.......lol.....did ruin pea soup for me....
