New director on this one. Rob Marshall of "Chicago" fame is on board on this one. He has a better feel for narrative.Though the kids and swooning girls do not care about narrative I suppose.
The previous ones though beautiful to look at, always felt like a flip book by a kid with ADHD. But what do I know, those films made tons of money.

I think the first movie had a strong narrative, but the other two were so confusing... what was supposed to be suspensful? What was the emotion? What the hell was going on that actually built up into a coherent flowing narrative? I have no idea what was going on outside of plot detail after detail and effect after effect with no actual plot. Completely different then the first one.
I hope the new one has a stronger sense of story.
But can someone tell me... why was Penelope Cruz cast? Is the other actress gone? They look similar in the photographs.
I thought that, also. surviving on the thought of loving you, it's just like the water
I ain't felt this way in years... |

Actually for all who say they don't like the Pirate movies when you actually sit down and listen to them and follow the plots they are great movies! You can watch them over and over again and never tire of them |

For me, it has right ingrideints. Depp is always fantastic.
There is a lot of stuff going on. A lot of effort being made to please me. I felt I was getting poked about, but it kept missing the right spot. In the end, I just felt bored, tired and unsatisfied. |
