I'm not gonna click the link, because it's Steve Harvey and I can't bore myself at the moment. But I never ceased to be amazed that women actually value relationship advice from pulpit pimps, Steve Harvey, and Tyler Perry....and can't figure out why they can't "find a good man".
It's you, boo. It's you.

How can somebody else take your self-esteem? It's called esteem-of-yo-muthafuckin-sef! Maybe it's sumthin' 'bout yo pussy that's attractin' ain't shit nuccas. [Edited 12/13/10 8:13am] |

But he's right.
Most men are friends with women because they would jump at more if they were given the chance. Not every guy of course, but come on....generally speaking it's true. I tried to convince myself for years that it's not true...but it totally is.
But I don't agree that men and women can't be or shouldn't be friends because of it. |

Co-Sign. Just because you do not like Steve does not mean some of what he has to say is not valid. |

To each his or her own but I've always thought its silly that some think people of the opposite sex can't be friends. Steve Harvey should've written a book about what he learned and what part he played in messing up 3 marriages. Please, he needs to shut up.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day. Are you gonna depend on it to give you the right time the rest of the day tho?

Some fools do, apparently.
Man I need to get lit and jump head first off of my front porch a few times. With any luck it will knock some sense out of me, and I can think of some dumb ass shit to sell peole and get rich of. Steve Harvey? Sarah Palin? Surely I can get as dumb as them, find an equally stupid market, and ca-ching!
Now, that's what they should have been teaching me all those years getting a colijj edjmucashun.

IRL? Please, he comes off that way period.
I've never found him funny or even slightly entertaining and don't know anyone who does.
But I still think he has a point. It's not that he's saying they can't be friends....just that dude would hit it if he had the chance.
And obviously he's the type of guy that can't resist even when he's in a relationship, so he refuses to have female friends.
I'd be curious to see what other great words of wisdom he has for women...but not enough to buy his book, of course. |

It's just another hustle. I ain't mad at him for doing his thing but when other women perpetuate his bullshit it's annoying. If one more person comes to me talking about what they heard on Strawberry Letter this morning somebody gon' get hurt.

To borrow from one of Steve's friends, I wish I could meet him, so I could cuss him the fuck out. Everything about dude has always irked the shit out of me. I'm sick and tired of the Prince fans being sick and tired of the Prince fans that are sick and tired! |

You'd be surprised. I know several people living beings that actually think he's funny...call themsleves fans even.
My 7-month old son is funnier in his sleep than Steve is when he's on stage. I need to find my son an agent I guess. I'm sick and tired of the Prince fans being sick and tired of the Prince fans that are sick and tired! |

1. You should play a lot of "games".
2. You should feed a man's ego.
3. You should play dumb more often so he can feel manly and he'll want to protect you.
4. If he cheats it's your fault.
That pretty much covers it.

Isn't there something in there about being more docile or some shit if you make more money than a man cuz you're too much of a threat? I remember him saying some dumb shit along those lines when he was on some talk show. |

I didn't watch the clip, but I assume it has something to do with his book.

I guess he thinks he's an expert or something. I think he's a not too funny guy with huge teeth |

That's falls under number 3 basically.
"You have this and that what do you need me for".
As I've advised my daughter any male that says this stupid shit leave him alone, RUN. He ain't nothin' but a headcase. |

Actually, he's just saying what a lot of guys think....so I can't be mad at him for that.
The problem I do have with him is he is saying, "This is what we think, this is what we want so if you want a man, you need to cater to us".

thank you!
and let's not forget that there are some women and men out there that just aren't cut out for relationships. you can take advice from your momma, your daddy, from steve (which is the same as what your momma/daddy said) and every cosmo/glamour/essence/sister2sister/GQ magazine out there....until you can step outside yourself and truly examine whether you indeed want a relationship and whether you would make a good mate e.g. whether you would date yourself, no advice will help you maintain a partner.
p.s. I've no faith that Steve's current marriage will last. Either the money will run out or somebody will wise up. Always happens that way. |
