This movie gets a big "Yay" from me; I love it! It's definitely a "chick flick" about two friends who remain friends throughout the years, even when they get mad at each other. They don't speak to each other for awhile after having an argument, but eventually, they are able to patch things up. This movie reminds me soooo much of several of my friends that I have had for many years. We may do something that pisses the other person off, we may get mad and have harsh words between the two of us. Heck, we may not even speak to each other for awhile, but we manage to work things out, and to remain friends until the bitter end.
Yay, I've seen it dozens of times and it NEVER gets old. Love it! I will not eat anything that walks, runs, skips, hops or crawls. God knows that I've crawled on occasion, and I'm glad that no one ate me. ~Alex Poulos

That was my first introduction to Barbara Hershey,,,,I don't think I ever disliked a single role that woman played. BTW, she did gread in "The Black Swan".
Never saw "The Black Swan". I need to rent it.
It just came out this month. The Oscar buzz is already swarming around this one. I'm excited to see it, but I'm also kinda scared because I get skittish with films that border thriller/horror...but I love the ballet world, and as a Scorpio one thing I know something about is psychosis and dementia so...I'll give it a whirl!
*oh, and Beaches is a yay for me edit* [Edited 12/13/10 13:01pm] |

I'm a HUGE Darren Aronofsky fan(his Requiem Of A Dream is one of my fave movies), so my judgement might be biased, you might wanna ask the rest of the orgers who watched it(I think Ivy did).
There're many Kubrick-ish moments in there as well, which adds to its charm. [Edited 12/13/10 13:05pm] |

And the use of the emoticon was to stop me from saying something worse. Shirley MacLaine, Cher, Bette Midler, Julia Roberts... there's another one... can't remember right now.. but all of them share a special place in my life. A place that I never, EVER visit under ANY circumstances. Bette Midler is like a thousand nails doing a chalk board symphony to me. No idea why, either. Been that way since I was a barely a teenager. I dig your interpretation of the movie and how it relates to your life, though. Unfortunately, Bette Midler is still in it.
You don't even like "The Apartment" with Jack Lemmon?
I could tolerate all of those ladies you just mentioned,,,,,Meg Ryan is the one that makes me wanna run toward a brick wall I love "When Harry Met Sally" though, but overall, if you watched Meg film, you watched the rest of her filmography, and believe me ONE is more than enough.
I love Bette Midler though, I think she & Angela Bassett are two examples of great actresses who were poorly directed. And being a sucka for camp myself, I'd say she's a pro
Love "Beaches" btw.
I could MAYBE stomach the Apartment again. And Two Mules For Sister Sara wasn't too torturous the first time. But why risk it? Better safe than sorry. |

yourself. If I could selectively remove channels from my cable service Lifetime would be first, followed closely by the Hallmark channel.
