Jets assistant trips Miami player

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shutdown_corner/post/Video-Jets-employee-trips-Dolphins-player-durin?urn=nfl-294916

I've watched it a few times. They guy has come out and said "this was a lapse in judgement and I'm sorry," but is he just reading what Jets Top Brass is telling him to?

I see a guy running WAY out of the field of play and into the designated area for staff and sideline players to stand. I see the Jet's guy lean into the oncoming hit instead of moving out of the way (nobody else moved either). I see the Miami player sprinting at full speed get bumped and take a fall.

I dunno... Was it really dirty? When I heard about it on the news/SportsCenter, it sounded like the guy walked onto the edge of the field of play and stuck his leg out.

Still it's nice to know, when our bodies wear out, we can get another

Heck yeah it was dirty. It was about as dirty as you can get. Dude tripped him on purpose.

The Dolphins player was running there because he had just been pushed out of bounds. He was heading back into the field of play, because every special teams player knows that if you go out of bounds, you cannot be the first player to make a play.

The Jets coach should be fired immediately for what he did. Of course, to do so would require integrity and I don't think Rex Ryan has any of that.

His dad damn sure doesn't.

I watched it again (a few times), and it definately looks like he saw the guy coming, and girded his leg for the trip.

Man, what an ass. It wasn't like the old Woody Hayes clothesline or the old time Cotton Bowl bench player tackle, but it was bad form nonetheless.

To throw away a job that rare just like that... dayum.

Wow, unbelievable. And now he's apologizing. If there is anything worse than a stunt like this, it's an empty, fake-azz apology afterwards. Sal Alosi, should just come out and say "I did it because I'm a jerk!" I'd have more respect for him.
