14 yrs old, summer program, worked at DMV marking tests. First intro, and regrettably not last, as to how dumb people are. It would scare you to know how many people got zeroes on the written test....

You don't know what a stop sign means? Whoa! FOHWTS! walk yo ass home!!

When I was 14 I found that shit hysterical. Now that I drive....not quite as funny.... hmph!

I am also scared that I have been working more than half my life. But having that first job so young gave me a good work ethic. But I am also burnt out from doing so much so young.

I had a saturday job at a newsagents while I was at my last year of school. It was so much fun. The 3 members of staff consisted of Vanessa (aged 22), Karianne (aged 20) and me aged 16/17. The boss never came in at weekends and we just used to spend our time messing around. I loved it.

Those girls were such a bad influence on me though.....

When I was 16, I worked at THE LODGE AT HARVARD SQUARE in THE MALL AT SHORT HILLS...

I typed it like that because whenever we answered the phone, we had to say that:

"Hello... This is... How may I help you?" lol

I worked there for about 3 years, until it went out of business. Then I did a one-month stint at telemarketing before getting another mall job: GANTOS. I worked there thru my 3rd year of teaching.

Your lies, they cut me.
Now your words don't mean a thing.
I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..."

Stocking shelves/bagging food/meat dept at the local grocery store. Lots of the high school kids worked there. We had such a freaking blast.

I've never had a part-time job. I've always worked full-time. My first full-time job was in the kitchen at Roy Rogers when I was 17. I could not eat there for the longest time after I quit.

At 16, I landed a part-time gig at the coolest independent record store in my neighborhood. Did a lot for my social standing in school smile and for expanding my appreciation of music.

Frangrances Galore! The manager had a crush on my brother, so he pulled some strings and got me the job at 15. It was so much fun and why I know so many different perfumes and cologne. Great place to see people too since it was in the mall!

Prince is GORGEOUS. I'm inspired. GOD is GREAT. Is there anything else to say? lol

Detasselling corn at 14. It was hellish, but I'd never seen so much money. I was making $3.50 an hour.

I did it two summers in a row (at 14 and 15). The older (16+) kids got to be supervisors and made $4.50/hour. They must have been living large. I was very jealous of them. But by the time I hit 16, I was a cook at a restaurant and I was not gonna go back out in the fields. No way, no how.

it was not my first part time job... i think i was 17

but i did once work in a lingerie store biggrin

lets just say that fitting women into their required bra size does help one gain unattainable knowledge in comparison to the grocery store work wink
