MLB: Cliff Lee Spurns Yankees, Rangers for Phillies Five years, $100mil, $50mil less than the Yankee offer. Looks like another division title for Philadelphia. Their rotation is sweet.

That rotation is unbelievable, and Brad Lidge...well, Lidge lights it up every other year, and 2011 is the light-up year based on past history.
What a team. | |

For all the haters who whine about the Yankees spending money;
http://baseball.about.com/od/newsrumors/a/2010baseballteampayrolls.htm
Folks always scream when the Yankees spend money. But history has shown a big payroll doesn't guarantee success. After 1981, the Yankees didn't make the WS for 15 years. And after 2000, there was a nine-year drought. Bottom line - Yankees, Red Sox, Cubs & Phillies are playing by the rules that MLB has in place.

Unreal The met fan in me was so happy to hear he didn't sign with the yankees, but where he ended up was even worse.

damn damn damn!! man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Are you a fan again? | |

On behalf of the fans here in Philly, I'd like to thank the person who spit on Cliff Lee's wife....lol....

I don't have a "dog" in this race but I'll checkout more Phillie games because of Lee. Cliff came back to the National League where he belongs if only he had come to the CUBS.

its a short term loss for us yankee fans but in a year or two, when lee has a blown out arm we'll be happy. i hope.

Now it's time for Cashman to earn his loot. Yankees starting rotation needs work.

I'll always love the Red Sox...it's in my blood. But I'm really not into baseball much anymore. It's football and basketball now, so much more exciting!

That Red Sox line-up is no joke with the addition of Crawford. On paper, they're the favorites to win the division.

Formidable if they stay healthy. Because the Red Sox lineup is really no different from last year with Crawford and Gonzalez replacing Beltre and Martinez who were big producers on the team, but injuries killed everyone else.

in the imortal words of chris berman .."thats why the play the game" cause yes on paper it looks like they may dominate, but no one can tell whats gonna happen once the season starts. hell look at the miami heat, they started off sluggish and people started questioning what's wrong with them?
and even tho i wanted cliff lee on the yankees, i just reminded myself, the last two times cliff lee was in the world series what happend? HIS TEAM LOST!! man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Too many questions surrounding the Yankees rotation. For me, the biggest is what will Andy do?
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
yeah andy is always the hanging note so 2 speak, cause of andy the yankees never went after johan and every last few years andy pulls the I will retire game then comes back. amazing through all the talk of whether 2 give cliff lee 7 years and he'll be 39 at the end of it, they don't say nothing about andy's age being 37 man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

I can tell you that the Rangers don't feel "spurned." The team has been very gracious towards Lee, touting the good sportsman that he has been and wishing him the best.
